Kyle Palmieri remains day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will not play vs. Columbus.

Palmieri missed the Islanders' previous game due to an upper-body and did not make the trip to Columbus Friday. The 31-year-old has six goals and three assists on 37 SOG through 20 games prior to the injury. He remains day-to-day.

Sorokin was perfect in his previous start, stopping 49 of 49 shots in the best start of his already impressive career vs. Edmonton. He currently is second in the NHL with his .934 SV% and third with his 2.20 GAA to go along with his 9-5-0 record. He takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets who rank 21st in goals for (2.95) and 23rd in shots per game (30.0).

Matias Maccelli will be a healthy scratch Wednesday vs. Carolina.

Maccelli heading to the press box Wednesday comes as a bit of a surprise as the rookie had been enjoying a strong season, leading all rookie skaters with 11 points (1G/10A) through 17 games played. He will be replaced by Dylan Guenther and Zack Kassian returning to the lineup.

Liam Foudy will draw back into the Blue Jackets' lineup Wednesday vs. the Canadiens.

Foudy missed the Blue Jackets' previous game as he was a healthy scratch but will draw back into the lineup Wednesday. The 22-year-old prospect has three assists and is a -6 plus/minus while playing a bottom-six role across 10 games played this season.

Vitek Vanecek will start Wednesday vs. Toronto.

Vanecek stopped 28 of 30 shots (.933 SV%) picking up his ninth straight in his previous start vs. Edmonton. He has been sensational as the Devils' workhorse this season, posting a 9-1-0 record with a 2.14 GAA and .918 SV%. He will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs who lost in overtime their last time out and ranks a surprising 20th in the NHL in goals with 2.95 goals per game.
