Salo was a second-round pick of the Islanders in 2017 and he came to North America this season after spending the last two years in the SHL. The 23-year-old blueliner has scored two goals with six assists (eight points) in 14 AHL games.
This is a huge blow for the Islanders blueline, as Pulock is the team leader in ice-time (21:07). Pulock being out one month opens the door for Sebastian Aho to play big minutes, including on PP1. In two games this season, Aho has played 19:03 ATOI at even-strength and 4:59 on the PP.
Cizikas missed Monday's game with an illness that he picked up over the weekend. He'll be a game-time decision in the second half of a back-to-back in Florida.
Drouin has missed the last six games with a head injury but will play Tuesday in New York. Drouin, who has two goals and five assists (seven points) in 11 games this season, will be back on the second line with Christian Dvorak and Josh Anderson.
Cizikas missed Saturday's practice due to illness and is questionable to play Monday against the Lightning. He was able to skate Sunday, which is a good sign that he'll be available, but he remains a game-time decision
Boqvist missed six games with a lower-body injury and was a healthy scratch on Saturday. Monday will be his first game since October 23rd and comes in pointless with a minus-3 rating in five games.
Drouin will miss his third consecutive game since taking a puck to the head early in last Tuesday's game vs. the Red Wings. Drouin is day-to-day, monitor his status heading into Thursday's game vs. the Flames.
