With the news that both Jonathan Quick and Igor Shesterkin are dealing with injuries Dylan Garand has been recalled from Hartford (AHL) for the first time in his career. The 21-year-old was the Rangers' 2020 fourth-round pick (103rd overall) and was 3-1-1 with a .914 SV% and 2.63 GAA in five games with Hartford prior to his promotion.

Mackey has been recalled for the second time a week from Hartford (AHL) and will hope to make his Rangers' debut if he finds himself in New York's lineup Thursday vs. Minnesota. The 27-year-old had a goal, an assist, 17 PIMs and a +8 plus/minus through seven games with Hartford and returns to the NHL for his fourth NHL season.

Jonathan Quick was announced out day-to-day Wednesday out of the blue and will likely miss their game vs. Minnesota Thursday. The 37-year-old veteran has played exceptional in his first season in New York, with his 3-0-1 record, .935 SV% and 1.77 GAA. With Igor Shesterkin (undisclosed) already on the shelf due to injury, the Rangers are now down to a tandom that includes Louis Domingue and Dylan Garand.

That said, Quick has played well on a whole this season, posting a 1.42 GAA and .948 SV% in four games (2-0-1) but will be put to the test Tuesday against a Detroit Red Wings team that is averaging the sixth-most goals per game this season (3.75).

Fox left the Rangers' game Thursday vs. Carolina after a hit from Sebastian Aho after 6:01 TOI and has been placed on the Long-Term Injured Reserve Friday. The 25-year-old was enjoying yet another excellent season after finishing at least top three in Norris voting in each of the last three seasons, as he had three goals, eight assists, 15 SOG, and six PIMs in 10 games before his injury. With Fox being placed on Long Term Injured Reserve, he will miss at least 10 games and 24 days for the Rangers.

He will look to keep the good times rolling as the Rangers head to Minnesota Saturday, who looks in shambles after losing four-straight games but are seventh in the NHL in goals per game (3.5).

The 27-year-old returns to the NHL for his fourth career season and has four goals and 11 points in 39 career games played. Mackey will be expected to make his season debut Saturday after it was announced Adam Fox (lower body) had been placed on the LTIR.

After a collision with Sebastian Aho of the Carolina Hurricanes, Fox left Thursday's game after playing only 6:01. He is expected to be reevaluated on Friday and would be a crushing loss for the Rangers if he is to miss any time. Fox has 11 points (3G / 8A) while averaging 21:04 time-on-ice through 10 games this season.

Brodzinski was off to an electric start with the Hartford Wolf Pack at the AHL level, recording 11 points (6G / 5A) in seven games, and has now been recalled by the Rangers. Brodzinski has played 39 games across the previous two seasons with the Rangers, tallying four points (2G / 2A).
