Rempe (thumb) has been placed on IR.

Rempe was forced to miss time earlier in the season due to a thumb injury and will return to the IR on Friday after New York announced he would be having a second procedure done on his thumb. The 23-year-old towering bruiser will be out indefinitely and may be in jeopardy of losing his season after just one goal and a -4 plus/minus in 26 games played this year.

New York has acquired Liam Greentree, and a conditional 3rd round pick from Los Angeles for Artemi Panarin (50% of salary retained).

Greentree was a key part of a trade that sent superstar Artemi Panarin from the New York Rangers to the Los Angeles Kings. The 20-year-old Greentree was drafted 26th overall by the Kings in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and has yet to play an NHL game. He is in his fourth season with the Windsor Spitfires (OHL), where he has 45 points (23G / 22A) through 34 games.

Fox (undisclosed) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday.

Fox's return to practice on Wednesday is an indication that he is wrapping up his second stint on Long-Term Injured Reserve this season. Still, it is unclear whether he will play on Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers in the team's final game before the Olympic Break. The 27-year-old Fox has had trouble staying healthy, but has been highly productive when in the lineup, scoring 28 points (4G / 24A) in 30 games.

The struggling Rangers are coming off a rare victory, 4-3 in overtime over the Boston Bruins. Still, they will revert from Jonathan Quick to Spencer Martin on Wednesday against the New York Islanders. The Rangers enter Wednesday's contest as +115 road underdogs against the New York Islanders, who defeated them 2-0 last month.
