New York Rangers News

Shesterkin was the first goalie off the ice at New York's morning skate.

The Rangers seem to have a firm hold on last place in the Eastern Conference (26-30-8), despite the solid netminding they have received from Igor Shesterkin (20-12-6). The 30-year-old Shesterkin has given his team a chance on most nights and has continued that consistency since returning from the Olympic break, posting a 2.73 GAA and .908 SV% in five games (3-0-2). The Rangers enter Thursday's contest as +133 road underdogs against a Winnipeg Jets team coming off a 4-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

Miller (upper-body) returned to New York's practice in a non-contract jersey on Tuesday.

Miller has not played since suffer an upper-body injury on March 2nd, but was back at practice in a non-contact jersey on Tuesday. He will not play on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames, but appears to be nearing a return. The Rangers have gone 2-1-0 without Miller, who was picking up production before his injury, scoring 14 points (3G / 11A) in his last 13 games.

Shesterkin will start in Philadelphia on Monday.

The Rangers seem to have a firm hold on last place in the Eastern Conference (24-30-8), which does not reflect the netminding they have received from Igor Shesterkin (19-12-6). The 30-year-old Shesterkin has given his team a chance on most nights and has continued that consistency since returning from the Olympic break, posting a 2.91 GAA and .899 SV% in four games (2-0-2). The Rangers enter Monday's contest as +125 road underdogs against a Philadelphia Flyers team that is 4-1-0 in its last five games.

Iorio is expected to be a healthy scratch in Philadelphia on Monday.

Urho Vaakanainen will draw back into the Rangers' lineup on Monday against the Philadelphia Flyers, sending Iorio to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old Iorio is averaging 15:51 time-on-ice and has three assists in 26 games this season.

Vaakanainen will draw back into New York's lineup in Philadelphia on Monday.

Vincent Iorio will be a healthy scratch on Monday, allowing Vaakanainen to re-enter the lineup against the Philadelphia Flyers. The 27-year-old Vaakanainen has not played since February 5th. He is averaging 13:53 time-on-ice and has four assists in 27 games this season.

Korpisalo will start in Nashville on Thursday.

Korpisalo was excellent in his only outing since the Olympic break, saving 36 of 38 shots (.947 SV%) in a 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, and will look to continue his impressive play on Thursday against the Nashville Predators. The 31-year-old Finnish goalie has a fantastic 2.31 GAA and .921 SV% in his last nine appearances (5-1-2). The Bruins enter the action on Thursday as slight -103 road underdogs against a Predators team that is desperate to snap a three-game losing streak (0-2-1).

Joonas Korpisalo
Shesterkin will start vs. Toronto on Thursday.

Shesterkin is coming off one of his worst outings of the season, allowing five goals on 29 shots (.828 SV%) in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. It marked the first time that Shesterkin has allowed more than four goals in a game since October. That said, before his most recent blip, the 30-year-old Shesterkin remained a reliable presence for an otherwise disappointing and inconsistent Rangers team, posting a stellar 2.12 GAA and .929 SV% in his previous nine appearances (5-1-2). The Rangers enter Thursday's contest as -128 home favourites against a reeling Toronto Maple Leafs team that suffered a 4-3 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils last night to extend their post-Olympic losing streak to five games (0-3-2).

Parssinen has been recalled from Hartford (AHL).

Parssinen is no stranger to the NHL, with 56 points (22G / 34A) in 151 career games, but has been limited to only 14 games with the Rangers this season. The 25-year-old Finnish forward only has 31 points (16G / 15A) in his last 106 NHL games after scoring 25 points (6G / 19A) in his first 45.

Juuso Parssinen
Morrow has been reassigned to Hartford (AHL).

Morrow was a second-round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The 23-year-old defenseman has spent most of the season with the Rangers, scoring six assists in 29 games, but has not been able to make a lasting impact and will spend some time in the AHL to work on his game.

Scott Morrow
Miller (upper-body) has been placed on IR.

Miller played 19:23 time-on-ice in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, but seemingly suffered an upper-body injury that will keep him sidelined for at least one week. The 32-year-old Miller is having a miserable season with the Rangers. After producing 1.08 points-per-game over his last five seasons, Miller has just 38 points (14G / 24A) through 51 games in 2025-26 (0.75 PTS/GP) while sporting a career-worst -24 plus/minus.

Shesterkin will start vs. Columbus on Monday.

After nearly two months without playing a game, due to a lower-body injury and the Olympic break, Shesterkin hasn't missed a beat, posting a solid 2.37 GAA and .912 SV% in two games (1-0-1). The Rangers have had a disappointing season, but Shesterkin has remained reliable, posting a 2.38 GAA and .917 SV% in his last 19 appearances since mid-December (11-4-3). Still, the Rangers enter Monday's contest as slight +107 home underdogs against a Columbus Blue Jackets team that has followed up a seven-game winning streak with two straight losses (0-1-1).
