Edstrom has worked his way into a regular role in the Rangers' bottom-six, playing 24 of 27 games, but is being evaluated for a lower-body injury. The 25-year-old 6'7 forward has four points (2G / 2A) and 48 hits this season.

Borgen has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury but will be a game-time decision this afternoon vs. the Lightning. Borgen will replace either Matthew Robertson or Scott Morrow if he plays. Borgen has one goal and two assists (three points) in 19 games this season.

Shesterkin allowed two goals on 21 shots in the Rangers win in Boston on Friday. With Jonathan Quick out, Shesterkin will start on back-to-back days and comes in on a three-game winning streak while stopping 74 of 80 shots (.925 SV%). Shesterkin and the Rangers are -115 home favourites vs. the Lightning, who are also on a back-to-back.

Scott Morrow will draw back into New York's lineup on Friday against Boston, sending Vaakanainen to the sidelines as healthy scratch. The 26-year-old Vaakanainen is averaging 14:33 time-on-ice and has three points (0G / 3A) in 16 games this season.

Urho Vaakanainen will be a healthy scratch on Friday against the Boston Bruins, allowing Morrow to re-enter the lineup. The 23-year-old Morrow is averaging 13:11 time-on-ice and has zero points in three games this season.

The Rangers have stumbled through the 2025-26 season, off to a mediocre 12-11-2 start, but have won two straight and will turn to Shesterkin to tend the twine on Friday against the Boston Bruins. The 29-year-old Shesterkin was excellent in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, saving 36 of 38 shots (.947 SV%). He has a 2.47 GAA and .911 SV% in 19 games this season (9-8-2). The Rangers enter the action on Friday as -135 road favorites against a Bruins team that has scored three or fewer goals in seven straight games (3-4-0).

With Juuso Parssinen's demotion to Hartford after clearing waivers, the Ranger have recalled Mackey. The 29-year-old Mackey has not play an NHL game yet this season. He has 11 points (4G / 7A) in 42 career games.

Parssinen appeared in 14 games with the Rangers this season, scoring three points (2G / 1A), but failed to make a lasting impact and was ultimately placed on waivers. The 24-year-old Parssinen had a surprising rookie season with the Nashville Predators in 2022-23, scoring an impressive 25 points (6G / 19A) in 45 games, but has not maintained that success in three seasons since, scoring only 31 points (16G / 15A) in 105 games.

Borgen has only played one game in the last two weeks, but could return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 28-year-old Borgen has two points (1G / 2A) and is averaging 18:38 time-on-ice through 19 games this season.

Miller did not play in New York's most recent game due to an upper-body injury and could miss a second consecutive contest on Wednesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 32-year-old Miller is averaging 20:41 time-on-ice, over three minutes more than his career average (17:35), but has struggled immensely in the offensive department this season, scoring only 12 points (6G / 6A) in 22 games despite being well-above a point-per-game player in his last five seasons.
