Laba (upper-body) practiced on Monday and has a good chance to play vs. Carolina on Thursday.

Laba was limited to only 2:34 time-on-ice in the Rangers' previous game, exiting with an upper-body injury. Still, he could return to the lineup on Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 22-year-old Laba has 16 points (6G / 10A) in 53 games this season.

Martin will start on Long Island on Wednesday.

The struggling Rangers are coming off a rare victory, 4-3 in overtime over the Boston Bruins. Still, they will revert from Jonathan Quick to Spencer Martin on Wednesday against the New York Islanders. The 30-year-old Martin played well in his previous outing, but did not receive ample goal support, saving 28 of 31 shots (.903 SV%) in a 3-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks. The Rangers enter Wednesday's contest as +115 road underdogs against the New York Islanders, who defeated them 2-0 last month.

Fox (undisclosed) returned to New York's practice in a non-contact sweater on Wednesday.

Adam Fox is in his second stint on Long-Term Injured Reserve this season, but appears to be nearing a return after practicing in a non-contact jersey on Wednesday. The 27-year-old Fox has had trouble staying healthy, but has been extremely productive when in the lineup, scoring 28 points (4G / 24A) in 30 games. Fox will not be eligible to be activated until the Rangers have two games left before the Olympic Break, and it is unclear whether he is targeting those games.

Korpisalo will start in New York on Monday.

Korpisalo has been excellent for the Bruins lately, and as such, he will return to the crease on Monday for his fifth start in their last 10 games. The 31-year-old Finnish started the season off poorly, but has significantly turned things around, posting a 2.12 GAA and .919 SV% in his last nine games (6-3-0). The Bruins enter Monday's contest as -118 road favorites against a reeling New York Rangers team that has lost eight of their last nine (1-7-1), including a 10-2 blowout loss to the Bruins.

Blidh is expected to draw back into New York's lineup on Friday in San Jose.

Blidh has been a healthy scratch for New York's previous six games but will draw back into the lineup for Jonny Brodzinski on Friday in San Jose for his third appearance of the season. The 30-year-old Blidh has not picked up a point since his days with Boston in 2021-22, despite appearing in 16 games between Colorado and New York combined over the years.
