The Oilers have signed Xavier Bourgault to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Bourgault was a first-round pick (No.22 overall) in last year's draft and has scored 27 goals with 26 assists (53 points) in 33 games with Shawinigan (QMJHL).

Batherson (ankle) will return to the Senators lineup on Saturday.
Batherson has been out since late January but is set to play Saturday vs. the Panthers. Batherson will be back on the top line with Josh Norris and Brady Tkachuk and on the top power-play unit.

Batherson has not played since January 25th but it appears he'll be in the lineup on Saturday vs. the Panthers. Batherson was having a terrific season before getting hurt, scoring 13 goals with 21 assists (34 points) in 31 games. He'll most likely be reunited on the top line with Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris.

The Panthers have acquired Claude Giroux, Connor Bunnaman, German Rubtsov and a 2024 fifth-round pick from the Flyers for Owen Tippett, a 2024 first-round pick and a 2023 third-round pick.

Stützle suffered a lower-body injury in Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jackets and missed Thursday's practice but is expected to play vs. the Flyers. Stützle has just one goal in his last 10 games but has picked up seven assists over that stretch.

Giroux (management decision) did not travel to Ottawa for Friday's game.
With Giroux expected to be traded before Monday's trade deadline, Giroux will sit out Friday and most likely Sunday vs. the Islanders as well. Giroux played his 1,000th career NHL game last night, firing two shots and picking up two PIMS in 17:47 TOI. At this point, the Panthers and Avalanche appear to be the front runners to land the 34-year-old.
