Ottawa Senators News

Chabot will be back in the Senators lineup on Friday.

Chabot has been a healthy scratch for the last two games, but will replace Ben Harpur in the lineup tonight vs. the Islanders. Chabot brings a much-needed boost to the Senators offence that has gone cole recently. Chabot has picked up three assists in five games with Ottawa this season.

Forsberg will start Tuesday in Nashville.

Forsberg allowed one goal on 13 shots after replacing Corey Crawford in the Blackhawks 7-5 loss to the Devils on November 12th. The Blackhawks have five games this week, so Forsberg could see multiple starts but he has had a tough start to the season—the 25-year-old has gone 1-1-2 with a 3.81 GAA and .904 SV% in four starts and two relief appearances.

Anderson will start Saturday vs. the Islanders.

Anderson allowed four goals on 31 shots in the Senators loss in Columbus last night. The Senators normally split their goalies in a back-to-back situation but Anderson reportedly asked to start again tonight vs. the Islanders. He is riding a personal four-game losing streak, having allowed a combined 12 goals on 109 shots (.890 SV%).

Perron left Friday’s game with an upper-body injury and did not return.

Perron was labeled as day-to-day after the game, clouding his status for Saturday’s tilt in Arizona. Perron played just 9:58 TOI before exiting Friday’s game following a collision with Sharks forward Timo Meier. If Perron can’t play on Saturday, look for either Oscar Lindberg or Brendan Leipsic to move onto a line with Erik Haula and James Neal.

Anderson will start Wednesday in Washington.

Anderson allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Senators loss in New York on Sunday. Anderson has gone 3-3-0 with a 2.39 GAA and .907 SV% in November and tonight he will make his second start vs. the Capitals—he allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 5-4 shooting loss to Washington in the season opener.

Anderson will start Thursday vs. the Penguins.

Anderson stopped all eight shots that he faced after replacing Mike Condon in the Senators win over the Avalanche on Saturday. The win moved Anderson to 3-1-0 with a 2.60 GAA and .895 SV% in four November appearances and tonight he makes his first start of the season vs. Pittsburgh. The 36-year-old comes into Thursday at 4-3-3 with a 3.45 GAA and .886 SV% on home ice this season.

Hamonic (lower-body) will return to the Flames lineup on Monday.

Hamonic returns after a three-game absence but doesn’t bring a lot of fantasy relevance to the table. He doesn’t see any power-play time because of the other talented defensemen in Calgary and comes into Monday with just one goal and one assist in 13 games with the Flames.

Travis Hamonic
Forsberg will start Saturday in Carolina.

Forsberg allowed five goals on 20 shots in the Blackhawks loss in Colorado on October 28th. Forsberg has struggled in his three starts this season, posting a 4.25 GAA and .895 SV% while going 0-1-2. He could be in tough against Hurricanes team that ranks as the top possession team in the NHL right now.

Anton Forsberg
Anderson will face the Avalanche in Sweden on Friday.

Anderson allowed five goals on 34 shots in the Senators loss to Vegas last Saturday. Anderson has won three of his last five starts despite posting a 4.11 GAA and .869 SV%. It’s been an ugly start to the season for the 36-year-old, who just hasn’t been able to come up with the big saves that he was making last year.
