Philadelphia Flyers News

Fedotov will start Wednesday in Washington.

After suffering their fifth consecutive loss last night (0-4-1) at the hands of a 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals, the Flyers will turn to Fedotov between the pipes in a rematch on Wednesday night. The Flyers will be desperate to return to the win column, but Fedotov's numbers thus far leave little to be hopeful for, showcasing an ugly 6.09 GAA and .818 SV% in two outings (0-2-0). The Flyers enter action on Wednesday as +121 road underdogs against the Capitals.

Ivan Fedotov
Foerster will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday vs. Washington.

Foerster has played all five games for the Flyers this season but will be a healthy scratch after registering a -3 plus/minus and one point (0G / 1A) thus far. The 22-year-old Foerster had impressive rookie campaign last season, tallying 33 points (20G / 13A) in 77 games.

Tyson Foerster
Ersson will start on Tuesday vs. Washington.

The Flyers, losers of four straight (0-3-1), will roll with Ersson between the pipes for the third time in four games to try and snap out of their losing skid. After winning his first outing, saving 24 of 26 shots (.923 SV%) in a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, Ersson has allowed eight goals on 68 shots since (.882 SV%). Ersson and the Flyers will be hard-pressed to end their losing ways on Tuesday against the Washington Capitals, averaging 4.3 goals per game during a three-game winning streak.

Samuel Ersson
Seeler (lower-body) practiced in full on Monday and is likely to make his season debut on Tuesday vs. Washington.

The Flyers have reassigned Emil Andrae to the Lehigh-Valley Phantoms (AHL), clearing space for Seeler to be activated from Injured Reserve and make his season debut on Tuesday against the Washington Capitals. The 31-year-old Seeler appeared in 71 games with the Flyers in 2023-24, tallying a goal, 13 points, 78 PIMs and a +9 plus/minus.

Nick Seeler
Andrae has been reassigned to Lehigh-Valley (AHL).

Andrae was recalled by the Flyers at the beginning of the season after Nick Seeler (lower-body) was placed on Injured Reserve, but did not crack the lineup for any of the five games he was with the team. The 22-year-old defenseman appeared in four games with the Flyers in 2023-24 but spent the majority of the year with Lehigh Valley (AHL) and had five goals and 32 points in 61 games played.

Ersson is expected to start on Saturday vs. Vancouver.

The Flyers will likely return to Ersson in their crease on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks. The Flyers have earned three of a possible four points (1-0-1) when Ersson has been in net this season, providing adequate results for the team despite a less-than-stellar 2.86 GAA and .895 SV%.

Fedotov will start on Thursday in Seattle.

The Flyers are 1-1-1 to start the season, with their only regulation loss coming when Fedotov was in the crease. That said, the Flyers will return to Fedotov for the second time this season and hope he can redeem himself after a poor first performance when he allowed five goals on 31 shots (.839 SV%) in a 6-3 loss to the Calgary Flames. The 28-year-old Fedotov only has four games of NHL experience (0-2-1), with an ugly 5.01 GAA and .821 SV%. The Flyers enter action on Thursday as +120 road underdogs against the Seattle Kraken.

Ersson will start on Tuesday in Edmonton.

The Flyers will turn to Ersson for his second start of the season when they visit the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. The 24-year-old Ersson was excellent in the Flyers season opener, his only start of the season thus far, saving 24 of 26 shots (.923 SV%) in a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Ersson started a career-high 49 games last season (23-19-7) and could rival those totals this season. The Flyers enter action on Tuesday as +176 road underdogs against an Oilers club that has only scored three times in their first three games (0-3-0).

Vladar will start on Sunday in Edmonton.

Coming off a 6-3 victory vs. Philadelphia on Saturday with Dustin Wolf occupying the crease, Calgary will turn to their other netminder Daniel Vladar on Sunday in Edmonton. The 27-year-old picked up a victory in his first start of the season despite a very average showing (5 GA - .792 SV%) and will look to keep Calgary's undefeated start to the season alive (2-0-0). They head to Edmonton to take on the Oilers, who have struggled mightily out of the gate with their 0-2-0 record and 11 goals against.

Dan Vladar
Ersson will start the Flyers' season opener in Vancouver on Friday.

The 24-year-old will have to fend off newcomer Ivan Fedotov for playing time this season, but Ersson appears to have the slight edge heading into game one of 82. Ersson had some bright moments in 2023-24 but struggled as a whole, posting an .890 SV% and a 2.82 GAA across 51 appearances. He draws a brutal first assignment against the Canucks, who scored five goals on 24 shots in their overtime loss to the Flames on Wednesday. The Flyers enter action as +160 underdogs in Vancouver.
