Simmonds was a second-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and announced an end to his 15-year career on Monday. The 35-year-old SImmonds most recently played with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season, being limited to only 18 games, scoring two points (0G / 2A). He ends his career with 1037 games and 526 points (263G / 263A), including two 30-goal campaigns.

The Flyers made two transactions on Monday morning, recalling Ginning and Olle Lycksell from the Lehigh-Valley Phantoms (AHL). Ginning has spent most of the 2023-24 campaign in the AHL, tallying 13 points (2G / 11A) in 56 games with the Phantoms.

Immediately after being acquired in a trade for Sean Walker and a first-round pick, the Flyers placed Johansen on waivers and is now out indefinitely with a hip injury. Johansen struggled with the Avalanche, scoring only 23 points (13G / 10A) in 63 games and his future this season is largely uncertain.

Vladar will get the surprise nod on Tuesday after Jacob Markstrom was scratched from his previously scheduled start due to a lower-body injury. Vladar will be hoping to bounce back from a rough performance on Sunday, when he surrendered seven goals in a blowout loss to the Hurricanes. Vladar owns an underwhelming .885 SV% on the season to go along with an 8-8-2 record. Things won't get any easier from him on Tuesday as he's set to take on Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche.

Bobby Brink will draw back into the lineup on Tuesday as Deslauriers will return to the press box as a healthy scratch for the second time in the last four games. Deslauriers has three points (0G / 3A) in 86 penalty minutes in 56 games this season.

Nicolas Deslauries will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday, allowing Brink to make his return to the Flyers lineup. Brink has been out of the lineup for the last two games, but has two points (2G / 0A) in his last four contests.

Ersson has been inconsistent lately but will return to the crease for the fourth straight game on Tuesday. In his last seven games (3-3-1), Ersson has allowed two or fewer goals five times but also allowed four or more twice. He had a forgettable performance in his last games, allowing four goals in 15 shots (.733 SV%) in an eventual 7-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. That said, the Flyers have a favourable matchup as -320 home favourites against the San Jose Sharks.

Zamula did not play on Saturday due to an illness but should return to the lineup on Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks. The 23-year-old defender has 17 points (5G / 12A), 25 hits, and 60 blocks in 52 games.
