Askarov (illness) will be unavailable vs. Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Askarov has earned primary duties between the pipes for the Sharks, but has struggled in the past two weeks, posting a 3.20 GAA and .869 SV% in his last five games (2-3-0). He will not play on Tuesday due to an illness, allowing Alex Nedeljkovic to tend the twine against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Nedeljkovic will start in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Yaroslav Askarov is battling an illness, resulting in Nedeljkovic returning to the crease for a second consecutive game. Askarov has earned an uptick in goaltending responsibilities in recent weeks, but Nedeljkovic has played well in limited action. He saved 28 of 29 shots (.966 SV%) in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes and has a solid 2.50 GAA and .905 SV% in his last 11 outings (4-6-1). The Sharks enter Tuesday's contest as +144 road underdogs against a Philadelphia Flyers team that has lost two of their last three games (1-2-0).

Skinner is expected to be a healthy scratch vs. Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Ryan Reaves will draw back into San Jose's lineup on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers, resulting in Skinner being the odd man out as a healthy scratch. The 33-year-old Skinner has failed to impress in his first season with the Sharks, scoring seven points (4G / 3A) in 19 games and has been held off the scoresheet in six straight.

Askarov will start in Dallas on Friday.

Askarov has been a bright spot for the Sharks this season, trying to make a case for the Calder Trophy, but is coming off a miserable effort, allowing four goals on 12 shots (.667 SV%) in a 7-1 loss to the Washington Capitals. The 23-year-old rookie netminder will attempt to rebound on Friday against the red-hot Dallas Stars and improve on a 3.15 GAA and .903 SV% through 18 games (10-7-1). The Sharks enter the action as sizable +240 road underdogs.

Misa has been placed on LTIR but loaned to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL).

Misa has battled some injuries earlier in his career and has been sidelined since November 1st. Injuries aside, the Sharks have been easing the 18-year-old Misa into gameplay this season, limited to only seven games, scoring three points (1G / 2A). He should see an increase in playing time during a loan with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL).

Michael Misa
Askarov will start vs. Washington on Wednesday.

After a sluggish (0-4-2) start to the season, the Sharks are flirting with playoff contention a third of the way through the season, largely credited to strong netminding from Askarov. The 23-year-old rookie netminder has an outstanding 65 percent quality start rate, posting a 2.96 GAA and .908 SV% in 17 games (10-6-1). The Sharks enter Wednesday's contest as +133 home underdogs against a Washington Capitals team that played last night, defeating the Los Angeles Kings 3-1.
