The Golden Knights acquired Chandler Stephenson from the Capitals for a 2021 fifth-round draft pick.

It sounded as if the Capitals were set to waive Stephenson to clear a roster spot for Carl Hagelin to return to the lineup, but the Golden Knights stepped up. Cody Eakin is out week-to-week with an upper-body injury, so Stephenson is expected to replace him in the Vegas bottom-6. The 25-year-old hasn't done much offensively this season, posting three goals and one assist in 24 games with Washington.

Grubauer led the Avalanche onto the ice for warmups.

Grubauer stopped 19 of 20 shots in Colorado's win over the Oilers on Wednesday. The win snapped a brief two-game losing skid for Grubauer, who has posted an .899 SV% in four games since returning from injury. Pavel Francouz faced 36 shots vs. the Blackhawks yesterday, so it could be a busy night for Grubauer on Saturday.

Murray led the Penguins onto the ice for warmups.

Murray was pulled after allowing four goals on 14 shots in the Penguins come-from-behind to the Canucks on Wednesday. It was another ugly outing for Murray, who has allowed at least four goals in three straight games, posting an .838 SV% in the process. He draws a tough road matchup vs. a Blues team that has won four of their last six (4-1-1).

Murray will start Wednesday vs. the Canucks.

Murray allowed four goals on 24 shots in the Penguins overtime loss to the Islanders last Thursday. Tristan Jarry started each of the last two games but they'll get Murray back in the crease on Wednesday. Murray has lost four in a row (0-1-3) with a 3.40 GAA and .877 SV% but has a nice matchup vs. a Canucks team that is 2-2-0 while scoring 2.50 goals per game in the first four games of their road-trip.

Grubauer will start Wednesday vs. the Oilers.

Grubauer was pulled after allowing four goals on 15 shots in Colorado's loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Since retuning from injury, Grubauer has gone 1-2-0 with a 3.93 GAA and .886 SV%. He will look to get back on track against an Oilers team that is 9-5-1 while scoring 2.93 goals per game on the road this season.

Schultz will be out “longer-term” with a lower-body injury.

Schultz was questionable heading into Thursday’s game but the news is much worse for the Penguins. Injuries continue to pile up for Pittsburgh, who are already without Kris Letang on the back-end. John Marino and Brian Dumoulin will continue to be leaned on heavily at even-strength and Marcus Pettersson and Jusso Riikola should see a bump in PP usage.

Grubauer (lower-body) returns to the crease on Tuesday.

Grubauer has missed the last five games with a lower-body injury but will start Tuesday in Calgary. Prior to getting hurt, Grubauer lost three in a row while posting a 3.36 GAA and .905 SV%. He draws a nice matchup in his return, as the Flames have lost four in a row and have been shutout in back-to-back games.

Murray will start Tuesday vs. the Islanders.

Murray allowed two goals on 21 shots in the Penguins' 2-1 loss in New Jersey last Friday. Tristan Jarry started Saturday, so they come back to Murray tonight vs. the Islanders. In his last six starts, Murray has gone 2-1-2 with a 2.68 GAA and .894 SV%. With a ton of injuries in front of him, wins are going to be hard to come by but Murray should turn in strong splits. He stopped 20 of 23 shots in a 4-3 OT win in his first start vs. the Islanders.

Matt Murray
"Good possibility" that Grubauer (lower-body) is available for Tuesday's game in Calgary.

Grubauer missed the last five games with a lower-body injury but was at practice on Monday and head coach Jared Bednar thinks both Grubauer and Pavel Francouz will be available on Tuesday. The Avalanche managed to go 4-1-0 without Grubauer.
