Grubauer allowed one goal on 38 shots in the Capitals win over the Canucks on Tuesday. With Braden Holtby starting last night, Grubauer will start the tail-end of the home-and-home with the Hurricanes. Dating back to the start of December, Grubauer has gone 2-0-2 with a 1.05 GAA, .965 SV% and one shutout in his last five games.

Grubauer stopped all 37 shots that he faced in the Capitals shutout win in New York on December 27th. It seems like an odd time to get Grubauer a start with a back-to-back later this week, but the 26-year-old has allowed just five goals on 132 shots (.962 SV%) in his last five appearances. He makes for an interesting spot-start, especially in a week where a lot of goalies are on a bye week.

Dunn has missed the last four games with an illness, but will likely play Tuesday vs. the Panthers. Dunn has been pretty quiet on the Blues back-end this season, picking up just seven points (3G / 4A) in 39 games.

Hayden played just 6:07 TOI on Friday and was a healthy scratch on Saturday, so he will get a chance to continue to work on his game in the AHL. Tomas Jurco has been recalled to take his spot on the roster.

Dunn was already ruled out for the Blues road trip so they placed him on IR to open up a roster spot to bring Jake Walman up from Chicago (AHL) and on the road trip.

Dunn has missed the last two games and will miss at least two more games as he is sidelined with an illness. Monitor his status heading into next Tuesday’s home game vs. the Panthers.

Dunn will miss his second straight game with an illness but should be available for the Blues’ back-to-back on Saturday/Sunday.
