Mailloux will be a healthy scratch on Saturday vs. the Dallas Stars.

Mailloux's previous career-high was seven games last season with the Montreal Canadiens, and he will be a healthy scratch on Saturday as the Blues attempt to integrate him into a full-time NHL role. The 22-year-old defenseman has zero points and a -7 plus/minus through four games this season. Matthew Kessel will draw into the lineup as Mailloux's replacement.

Hofer will start vs. Chicago on Wednesday.

Three games into the Blues' season, head coach Jim Montgomery has alternated goalies, a trend that will continue on Wednesday with Hofer tending the twine. When Montgomery was the head coach of the Boston Bruins, he followed a similar tactic, regularly alternating starts between Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark, but it's unclear whether that will be his long-term approach in the 2025-26 season with the Blues. Hofer was solid in his only start this season, saving 27 of 29 shots (.931 SV%) in a 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames.

The Blues will turn to Binnington for the second time in this young season when they travel to Vancouver on Monday. Binnington will start St. Louis' season opener vs. Minnesota on Thursday.

The Blues started the 2024-25 season as one of the NHL’s worst teams, prompting a coaching change, with Jim Montgomery taking over in late November. The Blues enter their season-opening matchup against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday as -124 home favourites.

Sundqvist is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Sundqvist exited practice on Sunday due to a lower-body injury and has not practiced since.
