Faulk was injured in Sunday’s game vs. the Devils and will likely miss at least two weeks with an upper-body injury. With Faulk out, Jaccob Slavin and Brett Pesce will make up the Hurricanes’ top-pair. Noah Hanifin should take over Faulk’s duties on the top power-play unit.
Faulk left Sunday’s game vs. the Devils with an undisclosed injury and it will keep him out of Monday’s game. Faulk is arguably the Hurricanes’ most important player, so this is a huge loss. Consider him day-to-day until more information on his injury is released.
Bjugstad was expected to return this week, but head coach Gerard Gallant said that he will likely miss seven more days. Continue to monitor Bjugstad’s status as the week progresses, but don’t expect him to make his season debut until next Tuesday at the earliest.

Buchnevich will miss his fifth consecutive game with a back injury, but he reportedly worked very hard in practice on Wednesday and is expected to return to the lineup on Friday. Buchnevich has one assist and four shots in two games this season.

Schenn’s three-game is done and he is set to return to the Flyers’ lineup on Thursday. Schenn is coming off of a career-year and will take his spot on the Flyers’ top line with Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds back from Michael Raffl, who was injured last night.
Buchnevich has recorded one assist and four shots on goal while averaging 14:52 TOI in his first two career NHL games. With the rookie out, Rick Nash is expected to move into the top-6, Jesper Fast to the third line and Josh Jooris is expected to make his Rangers debut. Buchnevich is listed as day-to-day.
Bjugstad broke his hand during Tuesday’s preseason game against the Stars. The 24-year-old is a key face-off man and third line centre for the Panthers, but will miss at least the first month of the season.
Krug is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and is expected to see his first preseason action on Tuesday. Krug is coming off of a career-high 44 points (4G / 40A) in 2015-16 and if all goes well on Tuesday, he should be ready for the season opener.
The Flyers and Schenn avoid arbitration by getting this deal signed. Schenn is coming off of a career-year, notching 26 goals and 33 assists (59 points) in 80 games. In the 2016 calendar year, Schenn was among the best fantasy forwards, collecting 44 points (19G / 25A) in 46 games from January-to-April—he had just 15 points (7G / 8A) in the first 34 games of the season. Schenn might not turn into a point-per-game player during the 2016-17 season, but he might be able to top 60 points for the first time in his career.
Sundqvist, 22, was a healthy scratch last night and returns to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton where he has 17 points (5G / 12A) in 44 games this season. He has just one assist in 12 games with Pittsburgh this year.
Schenn suffered a head injury in the Flyers loss to the Oilers on Thursday and is listed as a game-time decision for Saturday’s game vs. the Blue Jackets. Schenn has been on fire recently, collecting seven goals and six assists (13 points) in his last 11 games.
Faulk limped off of the ice during Wednesday’s practice and will miss his seventh game of the Hurricanes’ last eight. His leg injury has not progressed like the Hurricanes’ had hoped, so he’ll sit tonight in Toronto. Michal Jordan is expected to be back in the lineup for Faulk.
