It will be Vasilevskiy’s first start since November 27th, when he gave up four on 33 in a loss in Washington. Valiseskiy is 2-3-0 with a 2.55 GAA and .917 SV% in five starts this season.

Vasilevskiy allowed one goal on 20 shots in the Lightning’s loss in Florida on November 16th. Vasilevskiy has won two of four while posting a 2.03 GAA and .929 SV% this season. He draws a terrible matchup in Washington.

Girgensons remains day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will miss his fourth consecutive game tonight vs. the Blues.

Girgensons was held out of the lineup on Tuesday and is expected to miss at least the next two games with an undisclosed injury. With Girgensons out, look for Tim Schaller to remain in the lineup.

Girgensons missed Monday’s practice and was not on the ice for the Sabres’ morning skate which suggests that he will not be in the lineup tonight vs. the Stars. If Girgensons can’t go, look for Tim Schaller to get back into the lineup.

Vasilevskiy is expected to make his season debut with Syracuse tonight and should play another game on the stint, before returning to Tampa Bay next week.
