The New Jersey Devils put pressure on the Utah Mammoth last week when Barrett Hayton signed their offer sheet, but Utah has ultimately matched it, keeping Hayton for the 2026-27 season. The 26-year-old forward, the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, has shown flashes of the acumen that made him a high-end prospect, but he has yet to translate that into consistent play at the NHL level. Last season, Hayton averaged 15:07 time-on-ice and scored 25 points (10G / 15A) in 67 games with Utah.

Zac Jones, a third-round pick of the New York Rangers in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, has bounced around between the AHL and NHL in recent seasons. The 25-year-old defenseman spent the entire 2025-26 campaign in the AHL, recording an impressive 62 points (10G / 52A) in 60 games with the Rochester Americans.

Lee was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and has spent his entire career with the club, serving as their captain in recent seasons. The 35-year-old will get a change of scenery for the first time in his career, joining the Utah Mammoth on a three-year deal. He scored 42 points (19G / 23A) last season in 82 games.

Trocheck's name has circulated in trade rumours since last season, ultimately leading to a trade on July 1, sending the veteran center to the Utah Mammoth. The 32-year-old Trocheck had 53 points (16G / 37A) and 193 hits in 67 games last season. His unique blend of physicality and offensive presence should help a young, exciting Utah team elevate its game in 2026-27.

Stenlund has been a solid bottom-six forward for the Utah Mammoth for the past two seasons and earned himself a one-year contract extension. The 29-year-old forward scored 18 points (4G / 14A) last season in 80 games with Utah.

Moroz was a third-round pick, 88th overall, and has signed a two-year, entry-level contract. The 22-year-old Belarusian forward has spent the previous four seasons with Minsk Dynamo in the KHL. He scored 29 points (14G / 15A) in 54 games in 2025-26.

Cossa was drafted 15th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and was at times considered the team's goalie of the future after excelling at the AHL level. That said, he was buried until some strong goaltending depth in the organization and will ultimately get a shot with the Utah Mammoth after being acquired in a trade for a first-round pick last week. The 23-year-old goalie had a solid 2.33 GAA and .915 SV% last season in 39 games (26-8-4) with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL).

DeSimone has battled for NHL playing time throughout his career and finally became a regular fixture on the blueline for the Utah Mammoth in 2025-26, earning himself a two-year contract extension. The 31-year-old defenseman scored eight points (2G / 6A) last season in 40 games.

Roy has seen limited action at the NHL level over the past two seasons and hopes to reestablish himself in a more regular role in 2026-27 with the Utah Mammoth. The 22-year-old forward, a fifth-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, spent most of 2025-26 in the AHL, where he scored 45 points (23G / 22A) in 57 games with the Laval Rocket.

After spending most of the previous season in the AHL, Yamamoto returned to playing predominantly in the NHL in 2025-26. He scored 23 points (13G / 10A) in 59 games with the Utah Mammoth, earning himself a two-year contract extension worth $3.5 million ($1.75M AAV).
