The Canucks acquired Luke Schenn and a 2019 seventh-round pick from the Ducks for Michael Del Zotto.
Schenn has appeared in just eight games with the Ducks this season and heads to Vancouver where he will likely serve as an extra defenseman.

Pettersson (knee) will not play Wednesday vs. the Oilers.
Pettersson took part in the Canucks morning skate and is close to returning to the lineup but will miss his fourth straight game tonight. Pettersson said he’s “feeling better every day” and hopes to play on Friday.
DeBrusk (lower-body) will play on Wednesday.
DeBrusk is dealing with a lower-body injury but will be available for Wednesday’s game in Philadelphia. The Bruins recalled Peter Cehlarik from Providence (AHL) to replace DeBrusk but with him playing, David Backes will be the healthy scratch up front.
The Blues have recalled Mackenzie MacEachern from San Antonio (AHL).
MacEachern, 24, was a third-round pick (No.67 overall) in 2012 and is expected to make his NHL debut on Thursday. MacEachern has nine goals and six assists (15 points) in 31 games with the Rampage.
Pettersson (lower-body) will not play on Saturday.
Pettersson left Thursday’s game in Montreal with a lower-body and will not play Saturday in Toronto. With Pettersson out, Brandon Sutter will skate with Nikolay Goldobin and Brock Boeser. Pettersson is day-to-day.
The Canucks have recalled Thatcher Demko from Utica (AHL).
The Canucks traded Anders Nilsson to the Senators for Mike McKenna and waived McKenna with the purpose of sending him to the AHL to replace Demko when they called him up. Despite losing McKenna on waivers to Philadelphia, Demko still comes up as the Canucks’ No.2 netminder. The 2014 second-round pick has gone 8-5-0 wit a 2.58 GAA and .911 SV% in 16 games with the Comets this season.
Oleksiak will draw back into the Penguins lineup on Friday.
Oleksiak missed three games with a concussion and was a healthy scratch for the last three games but will replace Juuso Riikola on Friday. Oleksiak has 11 points (4G / 7A) in 32 games this season.
Pettersson left Thursday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.
Pettersson’s leg bent awkwardly in a collision with Canadiens’ rookie Jesperi Kotkaniemi. The Canucks did not have much of an update postgame but said that they expect him to remain with them during their road-trip. Expect a more detailed update after Pettersson is re-evaluated.
Line Change
Chytil will draw back into the Rangers lineup on Wednesday.
Chytil was a healthy scratch on Monday but will replace Jimmy Vesey on Wednesday. There is no word where Chytil will slot in but look for him to simply replace Vesey on the fourth line. Chytil has six goals and seven assists (13 points) in 37 games this year.
DeBrusk (concussion) will return to the Bruins lineup on Thursday.
DeBrusk has missed the last nine games with a concussion but will return Thursday vs. the Devils. DeBrusk, who has 10 goals and two assists in 28 games this season, will skate on the second line with David Krejci and Danton Heinen.
Oleksiak (concussion) will not play on Thursday.
The Red Wings have recalled from Filip Hronek from Grand Rapids (AHL).
With Mike Green out for 3-5 weeks, Hronek comes up from Grand Rapids for the second time this season. Hronek had three points (1G / 2A) in six games with the Red Wings at the start of the season and was even more impressive with 18 points (5G / 13A) in 20 AHL games. Hronek could play big minutes while Green is out thanks to a lack of depth on the Red Wings’ blueline.
DeBrusk (undisclosed) is not expected to play this weekend.
DeBrusk missed Saturday’s morning skate and is not expected to play vs. the Maple Leafs on Saturday. With DeBrusk out, Gemel Smith is expected to make his Bruins debut and David Backes is expected to move to the second line.
Boeser (groin) is expected to return to the Canucks lineup on Tuesday.
Boeser has missed the last 11 games with a groin injury but is “very likely” to play on Tuesday. Boeser, who had 11 points (4G / 7A) in 13 games before getting hurt, will skate on a line with Elias Pettersson and Nikolay Goldobin in his return.
Boeser (groin) will miss the rest of the Canucks road-trip; listed as week-to-week.
Boeser (groin) will return to to Vancouver to see a specialist.
Boeser won’t play Thursday, but Canucks head coach Travis Green didn’t rule out the possibility of Boeser re-joining the Canucks on their road-trip. The MRI on Boeser’s groin came back negative, but they want him to see a specialist to make sure they don’t bring him back too soon.
