The Flames recalled Michael Ferland from Adirondack (AHL) on Thursday.

Ferland, 22, is expected to make his NHL debut on Friday. He skated on the top-line with Markus Granlund and Jiri Hudler this morning, so it looks like he will see a lot of ice-time in his debut. He has four goals and five assists in nine games with Adirondack this season. He is a big power-forward with speed and goal scoring ability.

Kane (knee) was on the ice with the Jets on Monday.

Kane (leg) should resume skating this weekend.

Kane has been out since the season opener when he suffered a leg injury after playing just 1:24. The Jets announced Thursday that Kane is progressing well and are expecting him to start skating this weekend. The original timetable was "at least two week" and today marks the two-week point. The Jets could definitely use him back in the lineup but he is still at least one week away.

Kane (leg) will miss two weeks.

The Jets originally announced that he will miss at least two games, but now they will reevaluate him in two weeks and see where he is at. Head coach Paul Maurice felt like this was good news considering how serious they thought the injury originally was. Expect Dustin Byfuglien to continue to play a bigger role in Kane's absence.

Kane (leg) will miss the Jets' two weekend games at least.

Kane was injured in his third shift on Thursday night after a collision with linemate Mark Scheifele. Kane underwent an MRI today, but there is no report as to exactly how long he will be out. The fact that they are only ruling him out for two games is an encouraging sign that the injury is not crazy serious, but expect the Jets to release a timetable over the weekend--they likely need to see how his knee responds, before they have a true idea of the severity.

Kane (lower-body) left Thursday's game and will not return.

Winnipeg is back in action on Saturday, expect an update on Kane on Friday morning.

Kane may be a healthy scratch on Saturday.

Kane was one of the last players off of the ice at the Jets' morning skate which suggests that he will be a healthy scratch tonight vs. the Maple Leafs. Kane has two goals and five assists in his last 10 games. This could be fallout from the assault accusations that were slapped on him during the week.

Kane has been accused of an assault that allegedly occurred in Vancouver last summer.

A Vancouver-area resident, is seeking unspecified financial damages in a statement of claim filed last week in the Supreme Court of British Columbia. He alleges he was jumped by Kane one evening last August as he was walking home from a bar where he was working in promotions. He claims he suffered a concussion and numerous injuries to his head, neck, back, shoulders, chest, ribs and leg that are causing ongoing headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue and insomnia as a result.
