Boeser will draw into the Canucks’ lineup on Thursday.

After playing great in the preseason, Boeser inexplicably served as a healthy scratch in the first two games of the season. Instead, the Canucks elected to give pugilist Derek Dorsett nearly 16 minutes per game in those contests, so expect Boeser to step into a top-9 role tonight.

Boeser will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game.

Boeser had an excellent preseason and was an early favourite for rookie of the year, but he will have a tough time doing so if he can’t get into the lineup. The Canucks won their season opener vs. the Oilers, so they’ll roll with the same lineup tonight vs. the Senators—which means Jake Virtanen in, Boeser out.

The Rangers have sent Filip Chytil to Hartford (AHL).

Chytil averaged just 6:20 TOI in his first two NHL games and served as a healthy scratch vs. the Canadiens on Sunday. The 18-year-old will head to Hartford to work on his game—Adam Cracknell will take his spot on the roster after being claimed off of waivers from Dallas.

The Canucks have recalled Joe Labate from Utica (AHL).

Labate is one of four players coming up from Utica because there are five Canucks believed to be dealing with mumps. The 23-year-old has just nine points (2G / 7A) in 25 games this season and has not recorded a point in three career NHL games.

Kane (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Thursday.

Kane was hurt while scoring a goal in the Sabres’ win over the Sharks on Tuesday. Kane is listed as a game-time decision and the Sabres are hoping he will play because he’s been red-hot lately. The winger has scored four goals with five assists (nine points) while firing 43 shots in his last eight games.
