Ovechkin was on the ice for the Capitals morning skate but will not play Thursday against the Islanders. With Ovechkin out, Conor Sheary and T.J Oshie will skate on the top line with Evgeny Kuznetsov.





Ovechkin left Sunday's game vs. Toronto with an upper-body injury after crashing into the boards. He was not on the ice for Tuesday's morning skate and will be a game-time decision vs. the Islanders. Connor McMichael is expected to replace him in the lineup if he can't play.


Beauvillier was scratched Thursday vs. the Rangers and head coach Barry Trotz said he's unsure of his status for Saturday. Since it's an afternoon game, there's no morning skate, so consider him a game-time decision.


The Canadiens have been rotating defensemen in and out of the lineup recently and Schueneman will be replaced by Jordan Harris on Tuesday.



Schueneman was a healthy scratch in Toronto on Saturday but is expected to replace Chris Wideman in the lineup on Monday. Schueneman has tallied six points (2G / 4A) in 21 games this season.
