The Oilers enter Thursday's contest as +116 road underdogs against a desperate Dallas Stars team.

Winnipeg announced Wednesday that their captain, Adam Lowry had successfully undergone hip surgery and would be out for approximately 5 to 6 months as he recovers. The 31-year-old is not expected to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season after putting up 16 goals, 34 points and a +18 plus/minus in 73 games played in 2024-25.

Skinner was excellent in Game 3, stopping 33 of 34 shots in the Oilers' 6-1 win. Since taking over for Calvin Pickard in Round 2, Skinner has gone 4-2 with a 1.64 GAA, .936 SV% and three shutouts, including a 2.01 GAA and .930 SV% in this series.

Kevin Cheveldayoff announced Saturday that Mark Scheifele's father had passed earlier in the morning. Despite the horrendous news, their star center will still be suiting up for Game 6 on Saturday. With Calvin Pickard remaining out due to an undisclosed injury, Stuart Skinner will start his second game in a row as Edmonton hosts Vegas on Monday for Game 4. Skinner allowed a late third-period goal (0.04 seconds) and struggled in Game 3 after allowing four goals on 24 shots (.833 SV%) in his first game since Game 2 of Edmonton's opening series. He will host the Golden Knights on Monday, who are looking to even the series at two before they head back to Vegas for Game 5 later in the week.

Skinner has not played since losing the first two games of Round 1 against the Los Angeles Kings when he allowed 11 goals on 58 combined shots (.810 SV%). The Oilers have won six straight since Calvin Pickard took over between the pipes, but they will revert to Skinner for Game 3 on Saturday against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 26-year-old Skinner appeared in 51 games during the regular season (26-18-4), posting a 2.81 GAA and .896 SV%. Hellebuyck was tagged with the loss in Game 1 on Wednesday, allowing three goals on 24 shots. The 31-year-old netminder has posted a SV% above .900 in just one of his eight starts this post-season. If the Jets are going to get passed the mighty Stars, Hellebuyck will no doubt need to regain his regular season form that saw him post a 47-12-3 record along with a .925 SV%. The Jets enter action on Friday at -135 on the money line.
