Winnipeg Jets News

Hellebuyck is expected to start Tuesday vs. the Islanders.

Hellebuyck was between the pipes in the Jets last game, a 2-0 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, ending their season-best eight-game winning streak. Despite the loss, Hellebucyk, as per usual, was terrific, saving 34 of 36 shots (.944 SV%), continuing his tremendous season, and extending his 19-game stretch (14-3-2) where he has allowed fewer than three goals in all but one contest. The Jets will welcome back Kyle Connor on Tuesday and are -193 home favourites against a New York Islanders team that was defeated 5-0 by the Minnesota Wild last night.

Scheifele (lower-body) will be placed on IR on Tuesday but could be back on Saturday.

Scheifele's injury does not appear overly concerning, but he has been placed on the injured reserve and will be out of the lineup until at least Sunday. Before his injury, Scheifele had five points (2G / 3A) while riding a four-game point streak. The Jets' depleted offence will get a boost on Tuesday as they welcome Kyle Connor Back from a five-week absence due to a knee injury.

Mark Scheifele
Vilardi (illness) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday but is expected to play.

Vilardi is battling an illness, but the Jets anticipate he will be ready to play on Tuesday evening against the New York Islanders. Vilardi has three points (1G / 2A) in his last four games along with 13 shots on goal.

Gabriel Vilardi
Connor (knee) will be back in the Jets lineup on Tuesday.

Connor has been out of the lineup since December 10th, missing 16 games with a knee injury, but will return to the lineup on Tuesday against the New York Islanders. Connor will provide an offensive boost for a Jets team, without Mark Scheifele (lower-body), that saw their season-best eight-game winning streak come to a halt in their last contest, a 2-0 shutout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Before his injury, Connor had 28 points (17G / 11A) and 102 shots on goal in 26 games.

The Kings have recalled Samuel Fagemo from Ontario (AHL).

Fagemo played four games with the Nashville Predators earlier this season, scoring one point (1G / 0A), but was later placed on waivers and claimed by the Kings. The 23-year-old has spent the entirety of the season since with the Ontario Reign of the AHL, scoring an impressive 33 points (20G / 13A) in 24 games.

Samuel Fagemo
The Sabres reassigned Clague to Rochester (AHL).

Clague was the 51st overall pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and has 17 points (2G / 15A) in 31 games with the Rochester Americans of the AHL. Last season, he spent 33 games with the Sabres, scoring four points (0G / 4A). He was called up on Monday but was scratched for today's game against the Sharks.

Kupari is expected to draw back into the Jets' lineup Saturday vs. Philadelphia.

Kupari played one game with the Manitoba Moose as part of a conditioning stint after being activated from IR earlier this week and will serve as a roster replacement for Mark Scheifele, who exited Thursday's game with a lower-body injury. Kupari was averaging 9:35 time-on-ice in the 14 games before his injury, tallying one point (0G / 1A) and a -3 plus/minus.

Scheifele (lower body) is day-to-day and will be a game-time decision Saturday vs. Philadelphia.

After exiting Tuesday's game to get some stitches, Scheifele was again unable to compete in Thursday's game, leaving with a lower-body injury in the second period after playing only 7:41 time-on-ice. Luckily for the Jets, Scheifele's injury does not appear to be serious and should not miss too much time for a team that is already without Kyle Connor. Before his injury, Scheifele had five points (2G / 3A) while riding a four-game point streak.

Kupari has been recalled from his conditioning stint from Mantioba (AHL).

Kupari played one game with the Manitoba Moose as part of a conditioning stint after being activated from IR earlier this week and could serve as a roster replacement for Mark Scheifele, who exited Thursday's game with a lower-body injury. Kupari was averaging 9:35 time-on-ice in the 14 games before his injury, tallying one point (0G / 1A) and a -3 plus/minus.

Scheifele left Thursday's game against the Blackhawks with a lower-body injury and will not return.

Scheifele exited the game with a non-contact injury early in the second period of Thursday's game and will not return. His absence will leave a serious void in a Jets' top-six that is already missing Kyle Connor. We should expect to receive an update on Scheifele's injury and a possible timeline for his return following the completion of Thursday's game.

Mark Scheifele
Hellebuyck will start against the Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Hellebuyck will return to the crease for the red-hot Jets on Tuesday as they search for their seventh straight victory. Hellebuyck has played a large part in helping the Jets skyrocket up the standings to first place in the Western Conference and has undeniably been the best goaltender in the league for the last two months, allowing fewer than three goals in 16 of his last 17 outings (13-2-2), boasting a sensational .939 SV%. The Jets are -232 home favourites on Tuesday in a favourable matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who have scored three or fewer goals in each of their last four games (1-1-2).
