Winnipeg Jets News

The Jets have signed Dylan DeMelo to a four-year deal worth $12.0 million ($3.0M AAV).

DeMelo was set to become a UFA on Friday but the Jets have locked him up through the 2024 season at $3.0M. This is a fair price for a defenseman, who is a pretty good offensive play driver who is also rock solid in his own end. DeMelo had 10 assists, 105 hits and 77 blocked shots in 59 games between the Senators and Jets last season.

Hellebuyck led the Jets onto the ice for warmups.

Hellebuyck allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Jets 3-2 win over the Flames in Game 2. It was a gutsy performance from the Jets, who were without Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine. Hellebuyck has now stopped 57 of 62 shots (.919 SV%) in the first two games of this series.

Hellebuyck surrendered three goals on 32 shots in the Jets' Game 1 loss. It wasn't Hellebuyck's best effort but the Jets were badly outplayed. With Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine both out today, Hellebuyck will need to be on top of his game more than ever. He is now 11-13 with a 2.47 GAA and .919 SV% in 24 career playoff starts.

Winnipeg drafted Samberg in the second-round (No.43 overall) of the 2017 NHL draft. The 6-foot-4, 215 lbs. defenseman had 21 points (1G / 20A) in 28 games at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He represented the USA in the World Juniors in 2018 and 2019, posting a combined six points (1G / 5A) in 14 games.
