Henri Jokiharju will draw back into the Sabres' lineup Monday vs. the Rangers.

Jokiharju did not play on Saturday and has averaged only 12:34 time-on-ice over his last four games after averaging 17:11 in his first 14, which is also when he accumulated all seven points he has this season (2G / 5A). Jokiharju has predominantly skated alongside Owen Power this season on the Sabres' second defensive pairing.

Henri Jokiharju
Erik Haula (undisclosed) is unlikely to play Tuesday vs. the New York Islanders.

Haula exited the game late in the second period after registering only 9:30 time-on-ice. Haula has five points (1G / 4A) in his last six games along with nine hits and 12 shots. Haula is unlikely to be available on Tuesday when the Devils face the Islanders.

Erik Haula
Igor Shesterkin was the first goalie off the ice at the Rangers' morning skate.

Shesterkin initially struggled after returning from a lower-body injury, allowing seven goals in two games (1-1-0), posting an uncharacteristic .896 SV%, but will look to build on his more recent contest, a 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers when he saved 36 of 37 shots (.973 SV%). The Rangers, who have points in 14 of their last 15 games (13-1-1), are heavy -212 home favourites against a Buffalo Sabres team dressing four forwards with 100 games or fewer of NHL experience.

Igor Shesterkin
Spencer Martin will start Monday vs. Boston.

Martin last played on November 19th, allowing four goals on 25 shots (.840 SV%) in a 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers and will return to the crease on the back end of a back-to-back Monday against the Boston Bruins. Martin has contributed to the Blue Jackets' bottom-third defence (3.45 GA / GP) with a 3.37 GAA and .898 SV% through eight appearances (1-5-1). The Blue Jackets are sizeable +215 home underdogs against a Bruins team that has lost three of their last four (1-2-1), their worst stretch of the season.

Spencer Martin
Andrew Poturalski has been recalled from Coachella Valley (AHL).

Poturalski has seven points (2G / 5A) in 11 games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the AHL this season and could be an option to replace Brandon Tanev (lower-body). The 29-year-old Poturalski has played four NHL games, registering two points (0G / 2A) and a -4 plus/minus.

Andrew Poturalski
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is in the starter's crease at Monday's morning skate.

After not playing a single game for the Sabres in their first two weeks of the season, Luukkonen has become their most reliable option between the pipes. In his last eight appearances (4-2-1), Luukkonen has a sparkling .923 SV% and one shutout. The Sabres rank in the bottom half of the league defensively, allowing an average of 3.33 goals per game, a stark contrast to Luukkonen's impressive 2.71 GAA. That said, Luukkonen and the Sabres will have their work cut out for them as +188 road underdogs against a New York Rangers team that has won three straight, outscoring their opposition 11-5.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen
Joonas Korpisalo (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision Monday vs. Florida.

Korpisalo participated in the Sentaors' morning skate on Monday and could be an option in the crease against the Florida Panthers. Korpisalo has not dressed since November 18th, but the team will hope he can regain his pre-injury form when he posted a 4-2-0 record and a .921 SV% in his last eight appearances.

Joonas Korpisalo
Erik Haula (undisclosed) left the Devils' previous game and did not practice Monday.

Haula exited the game late in the second period after registering only 9:30 time-on-ice. Haula has five points (1G / 4A) in his last six games along with nine hits and 12 shots. The Devils next play on Tuesday, but Haula's status has not yet been determined for that contest.

Erik Haula
Adam Fox (lower body) was a full participant in Monday's skate and expected to be activated when first eligible Wednesday.

The earliest Fox can return from LTIR is Wednesday, and his presence at practice on Monday is a promising sign for the Rangers. Fox has 11 points (3G / 8A) in 10 games and has not played since November 2nd. During his absence, Fox has been replaced on the Rangers' top powerplay by Erik Gustafsson, who has performed admirably, scoring 10 points (1G / 9A). That said, Gustafsson was averaging 2:46 less time-on-ice before Fox was injured, scoring only four points (2G / 2A) in 10 games, which is closer to what can be expected from him after Fox returns.

Adam Fox
Alexander Steeves has been loaned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

Steeves was recalled by the Maple Leafs last week but did not make his way into their lineup. Steeves has been enjoying an excellent start to his 2023-24 season in Toronto (AHL) with 11 goals, seven assists, six PIMs, and a -2 plus/minus through 14 games played and has been recalled to the Maple Leafs Thursday. The 23-year-old has six career NHL games under his belt and has an assist and five SOG while averaging only 7:55 TOI.

Alexander Steeves
Sebastian Aho (upper body) has been placed on the injured reserve.

Aho exited Friday's contest against the Ottawa Senators with an upper-body injury and then did not play on Saturday and has subsequently been placed on injured reserve. Aho has four points (0G / 4A) and 26 blocks, averaging 14:11 time-on-ice and will miss at least one week.
