Hellebuyck is under the weather and may not be available for Tuesday's game vs. Seattle.

Hellebuyck stopped 31 of 32 shots (.969 SV%) for his second-straight victory as he beat Chicago his previous time out. The 29-year-old has been in the Vezina Trophy conversation all season due to his impressive 25-15-1 record, 2.41 GAA and .924 SV%. If he is healthy and does start, then he will face the Seattle Kraken, who snapped a three-game losing skid with a 4-3 victory over Philadelphia last game and are fifth in the NHL in goals per game (3.49).

Georgiev is expected to start Tuesday vs. the Lightning.

Georgiev stopped 42 of 45 shots (.933 SV%) for his fifth win in six starts as he defeated the Florida Panthers in his previous start. The 27-year-old has been solid in his first full season as a starter, with his 21-12-3 record, 2.68 GAA and .917 SV%. He takes on the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have won their last two games after a 3-1 victory over Dallas last game and are fourth in the NHL in goals per game (3.58).

Matthews (knee) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice; could return to the lineup on Wednesday.

Matthews has missed the Maple Leafs' previous five games due to a knee injury but could return to the lineup Wednesday as the team takes on the Chicago Blackhawks at home. The 2022 Rocket Richard Trophy winner had 25 goals, 53 points, 200 SOG, 16 PIMs and a +19 plus/minus through 47 games played prior to the injury.

Auston Matthews
The Avalanche have placed Erik Johnson (lower-body) on IR.

Johnson suffered a lower-body injury while blocking a shot on Saturday and will not be available for Tuesday's game vs. Tampa and has been placed on the injured reserve. Head coach Jared Bednar said they do not have a timeline for Johnson's return. The 34-year-old has seven assists across 51 games played this season.

Oettinger will start Tuesday vs. the Bruins.

Oettinger stopped 38 of 39 shots (.974 SV%) for his second-straight win as he defeated Minnesota in his last start. The 24-year-old has been one of the league's best netminders this season, despite being one of its youngest starters, with his 23-7-7 record, 2.22 GAA and .926 SV%. He takes on the league-leading Boston Bruins, who have surprisingly lost four of their last five games after a 2-1 loss to Washington last game.

Vanecek allowed two goals on 24 shots (.917 SV%) to snap a 10-game winning streak as he was defeated in overtime by Minnesota last start. The 27-year-old has more than paid off his offseason signing, with his 22-5-3 record, 2.32 GAA and .916 SV%. He draws the Columbus Blue Jackets, who snapped a four-game losing skid with a 4-3 victory over Toronto last game and rank 30th in the NHL in goals per game (2.53).

Stauber is in the starter's crease at the Blackhawks morning skate.

Stauber stopped 23 of 26 shots (.885 SV%) for his third-straight win as he beat the Arizona Coyotes in his previous start. The 23-year-old has been electric through his first three starts, with a perfect 3-0-0 record, a 2.29 GAA and .925 SV%. He takes on the Montreal Canadiens, who have won their last two games but are 29th in goals per game (2.64) and 30th in shots per game (27.9).

The Avalanche have recalled Brad Hunt from Colorado (AHL).

Hunt had three goals, three assists, 29 SOG, eight PIMs and a +1 plus/minus through 27 games was sent down and cleared waivers Monday, before being called back up Tuesday. He heads backup and will not be adding to his success in the minors, where he had a very strong start the year, with six goals and 20 points in 22 games.

The Avalanche have recalled Ben Meyers from Colorado (AHL).

Meyers has three goals, five assists, and 11 PIMs through 14 games with the Colorado Eagles (AHL) and has been recalled back to the Avalanche Tuesday. Through 28 games so far this season with the Avalanche in his previous stints with the big club, he has one goal, six PIMs and a -5 plus/minus.

Merzlikins will start Tuesday vs. the Devils.

Merzlikins stopped 26 of 29 shots (.897 SV%) to snap a three-game losing streak with a victory over the Toronto Maple Leaf's last start. The 28-year-old has a historically bad SV% this season, ranking bottom-five all-time with his .871 SV%, leading to his 6-14-0 record and 4.34 GAA. He will face the New Jersey Devils, who had a three-game winning streak snapped after a 3-2 shootout loss to Minnesota last game and are fourth in the NHL in shots per game (34.1).

Kuemper stopped 27 of 28 shots (.964 SV%) for his second win in three games as he beat the league-leading Boston Bruins in his previous start. The 32-year-old has been solid in his first season with the Capitals, with his 16-14-4 record, .916 SV% and 2.57 GAA. He takes on the surging Carolina Hurricanes, who had just snapped a seven-game winning streak with a 6-2 loss vs the New York Rangers last game.

Larsson last suited up for the Senators on November 21st but will find himself back in their lineup Tuesday as they take on the New York Islanders. Through his three games played this season, he has yet to pick up a point but has four PIMs and is a -1 plus/minus.

Bayreuther has been a healthy scratch for the Blue Jackets' previous two games but will draw back into the lineup Tuesday as they take on the New Jersey Devils. The 28-year-old has two goals, four assists, 27 SOG, 15 PIMs and a -5 plus/minus through 22 games this season.
