Valeri Nichuskin is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Nichuskin left the Avalanche's previous game vs. Nashville after just 13:31 TOI due to a lower-body injury and will now be forced to miss some time as he is considered week-to-week. The 27-year-old has played well despite missing nearly 20 games already due to an ankle injury, with seven goals, nine assists, 46 SOG and a +4 plus/minus in the 15 games he has played this season.

Mrazek will start Tuesday in Carolina.

Mrazek allowed four goals on 37 shots (.892 SV%) and picked up his third straight loss in a defeat to Nashville in his previous start. Mrazek will be hoping to improve on a horrendous start to this season, as he is 2-8-1 with a .874 SV% and 4.23 GAA. He draws a tough matchup with the Carolina Hurricanes, who will be looking to continue their current seven-game winning streak.

Kuemper will start Tuesday in New York.

Kuemper stopped 23 of 25 shots (.920 SV%) as he picked up a win over Ottawa in his first start in 19 days due to an injury his last time out. The 32-year-old has been solid in his first season in Washington, with his 9-9-2 record, 2.53 GAA and .916 SV%. He will face one of the league's hottest teams, the New York Rangers, who have won eight of their last nine games.

Markstrom will start Tuesday vs. the Oilers.

Markstrom stopped 21 of 23 shots (.913 SV%) for his third straight win in a victory over Anaheim in his previous start. The 32-year-old has been struggling through the first half of the season, with his 11-8-4 record, .894 SV% and 2.84 GAA. He will face the Edmonton Oilers, who have lost four of their last five contests after a 5-2 loss to Vancouver last game.

Simon Holmstrom is day-to-day with a leg injury and will miss Tuesday's game vs. Pittsburgh.

Holmstrom was involved in a knee-on-knee collision with Calgary's Sam Bennett and is now considered day-to-day as he deals with a leg injury. The 2019 1st-round pick (23rd overall) has a goal, an assist, eight SOG and one GWG in his 14 games played this season.

Binnington allowed four goals on 32 shots (.875 SV%) as he snapped a three-game winning streak with a loss to Vegas in his last start. The 29-year-old has faced his fair share of struggles this season as shown by his .896 SV%, 3.14 GAA and 12-11-2 record. He will face the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have won their last two games and are 12th in the NHL in goals per game (3.26).

Brock Nelson will be a game-time decision Tuesday vs. Pittsburgh (upper body).

Nelson was struck by a puck in the back of the head in the Islanders' previous contest vs. Florida and was forced to leave after playing only 10:33 TOI. The 31-year-old has been having an excellent season with 15 goals, 19 assists, 100 SOG, and a +9 plus/minus through 35 games and will be a game-time decision Tuesday.

Hellebuyck will start Tuesday vs. the Wild.

Hellebuyck stopped 36 of 39 shots (.923 SV%) as he picked up the loss in his previous start vs. Boston. The 29-year-old has been sensational for the Jets, with his 16-8-1 record, .928 SV% and 2.36 GAA. He will take on the Minnesota Wild, who just snapped a six-game winning streak with a 5-2 loss to San Jose in their last game.

Shesterkin was the first goalie off the ice at the Rangers morning skate.

Shesterkin was not busy, stopping 15 of 18 shots (.833 SV%) as he picked up his seventh victory in eight starts with a win over the Islanders his last time out. The 2021-22 Vezina Trophy winner has an incredible record (17-5-4) but has not been his usual dominant self with his 2.44 GAA and .916 SV%. He will face the Washington Capitals, who are in the middle of a four-game winning streak and have won nine of their last 10 games.

Pavel Francouz is day-to-day and will not travel with the team to Arizona (lower body).

Francouz is 4-5-0 with a 2.80 GAA and .913 SV% but is considered day-to-day and will miss the Avalanches' game Tuesday as he deals with a lower-body injury. Jonas Johansson was recalled from the Colorado Eagles (AHL) to replace Francouz for the time being.

Marcus Foligno has been placed on the injured reserve (lower body).

With Mason Shaw suspended for Tuesday's game and Foligno out with a lower-body injury, the Wild recalled Sammy Walker and Adam Beckman from Iowa (AHL) and both should play against the Jets. Foligno will miss at least the Wild's next few games as he recovers.

Sorokin stopped 22 of 23 shots (.957 SV%) to snap an eight-game losing streak in a victory over Florida in his last start. The 27-year-old has been a star yet again this season for New York, with his 11-11-1 record, 2.37 GAA and .925 SV%. He takes on the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are ninth in the NHL in shots per game (32.8) and seventh in goals (3.42).

Andrej Sustr has been recalled from the Iowa Wild (AHL).

Sustr has a goal, five assists, 25 PIMS and is a +3 plus/minus in 20 games with Iowa (AHL) prior to his call-up Tuesday. Sustr will be looking to add to his 69 points (11G/58A) across 361 career NHL games he had picked up in his previous nine seasons.

Kochetkov stopped 37 of 38 shots (.974 SV%) as he picked up his fifth straight win and eighth in nine starts in a win over New Jersey in his last start. Kochetkov has run with the Hurricanes' starting job, with his 10-1-4 record, 1.94 GAA and .928 SV%. He takes on the Chicago Blackhawks, who snapped an eight-game losing skid with a 5-2 victory over Columbus in their last game.
