Karel Vejmelka will start Wednesday vs. Carolina

Vejmelka allowed four goals on 39 shots (.897 SV%) in a loss vs. Vegas his last time out. Oettinger stopped 33 of 35 shots (.943 SV%) in his last start against Colorado but ultimately took the shootout loss 3-2. Ehlers is expected to be out for six weeks after it was announced Wednesday that the star winger had successfully undergone surgery for a sports hernia. The 26-year-old has only played in two games so far this season prior to his injury, picking up three assists and seven SOG across 43 shifts.

Tyler Tucker has been reassigned to Springfield (AHL).

The 22-year-old defensemen will head back to Springfield (AHL) as it was announced Wednesday that veteran Robert Bortuzzo would be returning from the injured reserve (upper body). Tucker enjoyed a brief four-game spell with the Blues prior to his demotion, failing to pick up any points but picking up four shots while playing limited minutes.

Bortuzzo will be available to return Wednesday after being activated from the injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. The 33-year-old has yet to pick up a point through ten games this season but has been his usual stay-at-home, steady self averaging only 12:03 TOI.

Connor Hellebuyck will start Wednesday vs. Minnesota.

Hellebuyck stopped 29 of 31 shots (.935 SV%) as he got limited offensive help in a 2-1 loss to Pittsburgh during his previous time out. The 29-year-old has been having a phenomenal start to 2022-23, posting an 8-4-1 record while ranking first in the NHL with his .935 SV% and second with his 2.07 GAA. He takes on the Minnesota Wild who snapped a three-game losing streak by beating Carolina 201 in overtime in their last game.

Foudy missed the Blue Jackets' previous game as he was a healthy scratch but will draw back into the lineup Wednesday. The 22-year-old prospect has three assists and is a -6 plus/minus while playing a bottom-six role across 10 games played this season.

Roslovic has been a healthy scratch since last playing November 17th but will draw back into the Blue Jackets' lineup Wednesday. The seven-year-veteran has one goal and six points through 15 games prior to being sent to the press box but will be hoping to build off his -6 plus/minus rating.

Vladar stopped 25 of 27 shots (.926 SV%) but still picked up his third straight loss in his previous start to the Boston Bruins. The Flames backup has fought the puck all season in limited action, posting a .881 SV% and 3.33 GAA along with his 1-3-0 record. He draws a tough start against the Pittsburgh Penguins who are fourth in the NHL in goals for per game (3.68) and eighth in shots on goal (33.3).

He takes on the Calgary Flames who seem to have turned a corner winning four of their last five games.

Korpisalo allowed six goals on 37 shots (.838 SV%) in his worst start of the season his last time out in a loss vs. Detroit. The 28-year-old has struggled in limited action this season posting a 3-2-1 record with a 4.16 GAA and .897 SV%. He takes on Montreal who is on the second half of a back-to-back after losing to Buffalo 7-2 Tuesday.

Megna will head back to the Avalanche from the Colorado Eagles (AHL) a day after being sent down after failing to pick up a point in eight games with the Avalanche while putting up a -1 plus/minus. Prior to his promotion the first time to the Avalanche, he had three goals and three assists through nine games in the AHL.

The Avalanches' 2021 1st-round pick (28th overall) has been called up by Colorado for the first time in his career. The 20-year-old had been enjoying a strong first AHL season with the Eagles prior to his promotion, scoring four goals and eight points with four PIMs across 16 games played.
