Poehling was a first-round pick back in 2017 and has 13 goals and nine assists (22 points) in 85 career NHL games with Montreal. Poehling has spent some time in the NHL in each of the last three years but should be a bottom-6 option for the Penguins in 2022-23.
The Canadiens have acquired Mike Matheson and a 2023 4th round pick from the Penguins for Jeff Petry and Ryan Poehling.
Matheson is coming off of a career-year, posting career-bests in goals (11), assists (20) and points (31) in 74 games with the Penguins. Matheson averaged 18:44 TOI/gm in two years with the Penguins butu could take on a larger role in Montreal, where there is not many experienced NHL defensemen.
The Wild have signed Liam Ohgren to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The Wild selected Ohgren with the No.19 overall pick in this summer's NHL Draft. The 18-year-old winger led Djurgardens Jr (J20 SuperElit) in goals (33) and points (58) in 30 games during thee 2022 season.
The Devils have acquired John Marino from the Penguins for Ty Smith and a 2023 third-round pick.
Marino is a solid two-way, puck-moving defenseman that is an upgrade defensively from Smith. Marino should fill a top-4 role in New Jersey and will chip in a little offence, averaging 27 points (4G / 23A) per 82 games throughout his career.

Smith was a first-round pick in 2018 and had a nice rookie season (2G / 21A in 48 games) but struggled in his second season. The move to Pittsburgh provides the Penguins with a little salary relief for this season and a defenseman with some untapped offensive potential. Swapping Marino for Smith is certainly a downgrade defensively for Pittsburgh.

The Penguins selected Pickering with the No.21 overall pick in this summer's NHL Draft. The 18-year-old blue liner had nine goals with 24 assists (33 points) in 62 games with the Swift Current Broncos (WHL).
The Predators have signed Zach Sanford to a one-year deal worth $850K.
Sanford started 2022 with the Senators before getting traded to the Jets at the Trade deadline. The 27-year-old finished the season with nine goals and 12 assists (21 points) in 80 games. Sanford should fill a bottom-6 role in Nashville in 2022-23, presumably as Nick Cousins replacement.
The Jets have signed Elias Salmonsson to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The Jets selected Salomonsson in the second-round (No.55 overall) of this summer's NHL Draft. The 17-year-old defenseman had 11 goals and 11 assists (22 points) in 35 games with Skelleftea AIK Jr. (J20 SuperElit) in 2022.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
