He faces the Detroit Red Wings who are on the back end of a back-to-back after a massive 5-4 comeback victory over Pittsburgh yesterday.

Zaitsev left the Senators' last game vs. Boston after just 7:16 TOI due to an undisclosed injury and will be out for the "next little bit" according to head coach DJ Smith. The 31-year-old stay-at-home defender had three assists, six SOG and a -6 plus/minus in 19 games prior to the injury.

Ekblad was considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury but it seems will not miss any time as he is expected to be in the Panthers' lineup Thursday vs. Montreal. The 26-year-old has had another injury-riddled season, but still managed to put up four goals, 10 assists and 72 SOG through 24 games played

Gudas has not played since Dec. 3rd due to a concussion and is expected to return Thursday as the Panthers take on the Montreal Canadiens. The 32-year-old bruiser has two goals, six points, 49 SOG and 39 PIMs in 25 games prior to the injury

Ersson was shelled for five goals on 30 shots (.833 SV%) in the only start of his career, a loss to Carolina his last time out. The 23-year-old will be hoping for better fortunes in his second start of the year as he replaces Carter Hart (concussion) for the time being. He will be looking to pick up his first career win as he takes on the San Jose Sharks, who have lost four of their last five games after a 6-2 loss to Vancouver in their last game.

The 31-year-old has struggled yet again this season after a horrendous 2021-22, with his current 3-5-1 record, 3.30 GAA and .882 SV%. He will take on Calgary, who is coming off a 2-1 loss Tuesday to Edmonton and is fifth in the NHL in shots on goal per game (34.7).
