He takes on the Vancouver Canucks, who have lost four of their last five games after a 5-4 shootout loss to Nashville last game.

Jarry allowed three goals on 31 shots (.903 SV%) for his second-straight loss as he was beaten by the New York Islanders last start. The 27-year-old has been excellent when healthy this season, with his 16-6-5 record, .920 SV% and 2.67 GAA. He will face the Edmonton Oilers, who just snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over Philadelphia last game.

Mantha left the Capitals' previous game Tuesday vs. Detroit after just 8:18 TOI due to an upper-body injury and has been placed on the injured reserve Thursday. The 28-year-old has nine goals, 15 assists, 101 SOG, 29 PIMs and a -7 plus/minus through 54 games prior to the injury.

Ovechkin has missed the Capitals' previous four games due to personal reasons and will play Thursday vs. Anaheim. He takes on the Minnesota Wild, who are in the midst of a three-game winning streak but are 25th in the NHL in goals per game (2.86).

Vanecek allowed four goals on 17 shots (.765 SV%) as he snapped a two-game winning streak with an ugly loss to Montreal in his previous start. The 27-year-old has had many more good nights than bad in his first season in New Jersey, leading to an impressive 24-6-3 record, 2.35 GAA and .914 SV%. He takes on the Los Angeles Kings, who just snapped a four-game winning streak with a 2-1 loss to Minnesota last game.

Mermis has five goals, 19 assists, 57 PIMs and a +9 plus/minus through 46 games played with the Iowa Wild (AHL) and is expected to make his season debut with the Wild Thursday as they take on Columbus. The 29-year-old has previously played in 25 NHL games, racking up a goal and three assists.

Addison has been a healthy scratch for the Wilds' previous four games but will draw back in the lineup as he replaces the injured Jonas Brodin (lower body). The 22-year-old has three goals, 24 assists, 66 SOG, and a -18 plus/minus through 52 games played this season.


Fleury allowed three goals on 19 shots for his third-straight loss as he was downed by Colorado in his previous start. The second-oldest goaltender in the NHL has been losing starts lately due to his shakey play, as shown by his 16-13-3 record, 2.98 GAA and .901 SV%. He will take on Columbus, who just snapped a two-game winning streak with a 3-2 overtime loss to Arizona.

Merrill missed the Wilds' previous game due to an illness and will now be out for at least Minnesota's next two games as he did not accompany the team on their road trip. The 31-year-old has two goals, eight assists, 36 SOG, 22 PIMs and a -9 plus/minus through 53 games prior to the injury.

Brodin has two goals, nine assists, 73 SOG, 24 PIMs and a +7 plus/minus through 49 games but will miss Thursday's contest vs. Columbus as he deals with a lower-body injury. Brodin is expected to miss more than one game with the injury.

Johansen had to be helped off of the ice after suffering a lower-body injury in Tuesday's shootout win over the Canucks. Johansen was reportedly spotted on crutches and wearing a walking boot post-game and will undergo surgery on the injury on Wednesday. Johansen will be out indefinitely and will miss the remainder of the regular season.

Olofsson was recalled for a two-game showing where he failed to add any points to his goal and three assists, he had managed to pick up through 15 total games and will now head back to Texas (AHL). The 26-year-old heads back to the minors, where he had five goals, 14 points and 20 PIMs in 37 games prior to his most recent promotion.

Murray served as Jake Oettinger's backup Wednesday because Scott Wedgewood was believed to be dealing with something minor but will return to Texas (AHL) Thursday. The 25-year-old has gone 13-8-5 with a 2.43 GAA and .905 SV% in 27 AHL games this season.
