Belzile played in eight straight games with the Canadiens, failing to record a point while playing 7:46 ATOI. Belzile will be replaced by Cole Caufield on the roster.

Caufield struggled with the Canadiens early in the season, failing to score a goal with one assist in 10 games. He went to Laval and picked up five points (2G / 3A) in six games. He should be plugged directly into the lineup Thursday vs. the Penguins.
The Coyotes have assigned Ben McCartney to Tucson (AHL).
McCartney played in two games during his stint with the Coyotes but has been a healthy scratch for the last four games. He returns to Tucson, where he has five goals and two assists (seven points) in six games.

Thornton has missed the last eight games with an undisclosed injury but will be a game-time decision vs. the Devils. Thornton would replace Aleksander Barkov in the lineup but centre the third line and second power-play unit. If Thornton can't go, look for Maxim Mamin to play.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
