Allen and his wife are expecting a baby, so he will sit out of Monday's game vs. the Penguins. With Allen unavailable, Cayden Primeau was recalled from Laval (AHL) to serve as Sam Montembeault's backup.

Montembeault will get his second start in as many games after Montreal announced Jake Allen would not be available for Monday's game due to parental leave. The 25-year-old netminder struggled in his only start of the season, losing 3-1 to Washington while stopping 26 of 29 shots with little offensive help. He will look to get his first win of the season Monday against Pittsburgh.

Timmins has had an atrocious time trying to stay healthy since being drafted No.32 overall in 2017. Last season he was limited to just six games and is hurt just two games in 2022-23. Consider him questionable to play Monday until the Coyotes provide more details on his status.

Bertuzzi left after logging 8:14 TOI and registering an assist and two shots on goal. The Red Wings were off on Sunday, so there was no update on his status, so consider him questionable to play Monday vs. the Kings.

With Brandon Carlo (upper-body) going on IR on Sunday, Renouf was recalled from the AHL and is expected to be in the lineup on Monday. The 28-year-old blueliner has registered three assists in just 23 NHL games since turning pro in 2016.

Carlo left Saturday's game against Arizona with an upper-body injury and did not return. The Bruins moved him to IR on Sunday, meaning he'll miss at least three games. Dan Renouf was recalled from Providence (AHL) to replace Carlo in the lineup on Monday.

Marchand took part in practice for the first time on Sunday, which was a great sign that he could be available ahead of schedule in recovery. He's still not close to returning to game action, but he may miss the minimum amount of time on LTIR (10 games or 24 days).

Nylander missed Sunday's practice due to illness and is questionable to play Monday. With Nylander not available, the Maple Leafs recalled Nick Robertson and he skated on the second line with John Tavares and Denis Malgin. Monitor Nylander's status during the Maple Leafs' morning skate on Monday.

Mete has no points and a plus-1 rating through two games with the Marlies this season. Last season, Mete had seven assists in 37 NHL games with the Senators.

Simmonds cleared waivers and was assigned to the Marlies to open the season. However, with Matt Murray landing on LTIR, the Maple Leafs had enough cap space to bring him back. He skated as an extra on Sunday, so don't expect him to be in the lineup vs. the Coyotes on Monday.

Robertson had a terrific preseason but was sent down because he was waiver exempt and the Maple Leafs were in a cap crunch. With Matt Murray landing on LTIR, the Maple Leafs gained some cap flexibility and wasted no time bringing Robertson back. With William Nylander (illness) not on the ice for Sunday's practice, Robertson skated on a line with John Tavares and Denis Malgin.

Dries did not appear in either of the Canucks first two games of the season and was sent to the AHL to make room for Noah Juulsen after Tucker Poolman was injured on Saturday. Dries had 35 goals and 27 assists (62 points) in 54 games with Abbotsford (AHL) last year.

Tucker Poolman was hurt in Saturday's game against the Flyers, so Juulsen comes up to serve as the Canucks No.7 defenseman in Washington. Juulsen did not record a point and had nine PIMS in his first two AHL contests of the season.

Poolman played just 6:51 TOI before exiting Saturday's game. The Canucks have yet to provide an update on his status however, they recalled Noah Juulsen from Abbotsford (AHL) on Sunday, suggesting that Poolman is going to miss some time.

Regardless of his game two loss, he is still enjoying a strong .917 SV% to go along with his 1-1-0 record to start the season.

Sorokin will take the crease for his second straight start of the young season. The 27-year-old Russian netminder stood on his head in game one, and stopped 26 of 28 shots (.929 SV%) while getting little help offensively in a 3-1 loss.
