The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the veteran netminder, who draws a horrendous matchup tonight in Toronto. In his first start vs. the Maple Leafs (season opener) he allowed five goals one 42 shots in a 5-3 loss.
Perreault (upper-body) will not play on Saturday.
Perreault was forced to leave last night's game vs. the Bruins and will miss tonight's game vs. the Blues. Head coach Paul Maurice would not name his replacement.
The Red Wings have sent Calvin Pickard to Grand Rapids (AHL).
Pickard has been returned to the AHL to make room for Jonathan Bernier to be activated from IR. Pickard is 14-9-3 with a 2.87 GAA and .903 SV% in 26 AHL games this season.
Bernier (lower-body) has been activated from IR.
Bernier has been activated and Calvin Pickard was sent to Grand Rapids (AHL), suggesting that Bernier will start Saturday's game vs. the Rangers. Bernier has gone 10-12-2 with a 2.99 GAA and .904 SV% on the season.
