Smith appeared in just one game during his call-up and cleared waivers late last week. He heads back to the AHL to make room for the arrival of Michael Frolik.

Placing Beaulieu on IR opened up a roster spot so they could activate Andrew Copp for Monday's game. Beaulieu is still expected to be out until early-February.

Hughes will miss his third straight game with an upper-body injury when the Devils host the Islanders on Tuesday. With Hughes out, Pavel Zacha will remain as the Devils' third-line centre. Head coach Alain Nasreddine reiterated that Hughes is day-to-day.

Stepan suffered a hand injury in Monday's practice and head coach Rick Tocchet said he will be evaluated by the medical staff and his status for Tuesday's game is unclear. Monitor his status during tomorrow's morning skate.

Shesterkin has been outstanding in the AHL this season, going 15-4-3 with a 1.93 GAA and .932 SV%, earning a shot at the NHL-level. Incredible numbers are becoming a trend for Shesterkin, who was 71-12-10 with a 1.49 GAA and .940 SV% in his last three years combined in the KHL. He will make his NHL debut against a Colorado team that played last night and have lost six of their last nine (3-5-1).

Tennyson has been sidelined by an upper-body injury since December 3rd and heads to the AHL with seven healthy defensemen already on the Devils roster. The 29-year-old has three assists in 19 NHL games and no points in one AHL game this season.

Folin was placed on waivers on Sunday and will go to Laval, where he has no points in seven games this season. He lost his place in Montreal when they acquired Marco Scandella from Buffalo.

Nordstrom missed Monday's practice with an illness and will miss Tuesday's game in Nashville. It's a one-game road-trip and the Bruins are bad in Boston on Thursday, so it's possible that Nordstrom will be back in the lineup mid-week.

Kamenev played Saturday in New Jersey, collecting an assist in 9:37 TOI but will be a healthy scratch for the 12th time in 13 games on Monday. Valeri Nichushkin will return from illness to replace Kamenev.

Nichushkin missed Saturday's game in New Jersey but will replace Vladislav Kamenev Monday vs. the Islanders. Nichushkin has one goal and four assists (five points) in his last six games.

Francouz gave up five goals on 32 shots in Colorado's loss to Minnesota on December 27th. The Avalanche have rolled with Philipp Grubauer for their last four games but they'll get Francouz back between the pipes against the Isles. He is 6-1-0 with a 1.94 GAA and .943 SV% in seven road starts and will see an Islanders team that has lost four in a row on home ice, scoring 2.75 goals per game.

Price allowed three goals on 37 shots in the Canadiens loss to the Penguins on Saturday. That's four straight losses for Price, who has posted a 4.08 GAA and .871 SV% during that time. Tonight he faces the Jets for the second time this season--he stopped 27 of 29 shots in a 6-2 win in Winnipeg in the Canadiens' final game before the Christmas break.

Mikkola was a fifth-round pick of the Blues in n2015 and this is his first career call-up. The 23-year-old Finnish defenseman has registered two goals and nine assists (11 points) in 30 games this season, his second professional season in North America.

Walman made his NHL debut in Colton Parayko's spot on Saturday but switched places with Niko Mikkola on Monday. Walman is back with the Rampage, where he has four goals and 14 assists (18 points) in 32 games.

Brooks missed Saturday's game vs. the Islanders but will replace Dmytro Timashov tonight vs. the Oilers. Since coming up form the Marlies, Brooks has one assist and one shot in three games while playing 7:05 ATOI.

Di Pauli made his NHL debut on Saturday and played again on Sunday but will switch places with Andrew Agozzino and head back to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he has six goals and six assists (12 points) in 22 games.

Agozzino takes the place of Thomas Di Pauli, who played in his first two NHL games last week. Agozzino has been Wilkes-Barre/Scranton best offensive weapon this season, scoring a team-leading 14 goals and 31 points in 35 games.

Greiss was pulled after he allowed three goals on 11 shots in the Islanders 5-2 loss in Chicago on December 27th. Semyon Varlamov started the last five games, including a shutout last night vs. the Avalanche, but Greiss will make his 19th start of the year tonight in New Jersey. He is 4-5-0 with a 2.93 GAA and .915 SV% in nine road outings in 2019-20.
