Fast missed Sunday’s game against the Bruins due to personal reasons but is expected to draw back in on Tuesday. Fast would likely replace Mika Zibanejad, who is questionable with an upper-body issue. Fast has two goals and three assists in eight games this season.
Georgiev allowed two goals on 11 shots after replacing Henrik Lundqvist in the Rangers blowout loss to the Bruins on Sunday. After opening the season with a win, Georgiev has since given up nine goals on 83 shots (.892 SV%). The Rangers are currently giving up the most shots against per game, so he'll be in tough against a high-powered Lightning team.
Dumoulin has missed the last four games with a lower-body issue but was a full participant in Monday’s practice. He is officially listed as a game-time decision for tomorrow’s game and would likely replace Jusso Riikola if he plays.
Galchenyuk was a full participant in Monday’s practice and could be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Galchenyuk, who has been out since October 8th, will be a game-time decision and had two assists in his first three games with the Penguins.
Shaw has registered three goals and two assists (five points) in eight games with the Moose this season. He comes up to replace Mason Appleton, who was placed on IR with a broken foot. Shaw has 31 points (12G / 18A) in 180 career NHL games with the Panthers, Ducks and Canadiens.
Appleton will miss at least one month with a broken foot that he suffered while playing football during the Heritage Classic. His move to IR opened up a roster spot for the Jets to recall Logan Shaw from Manitoba (AHL).
Forsberg skated in a non-contact sweater during Monday’s practice, suggesting that he’s not quite ready for Tuesday’s game vs. Chicago. His return to practice is a good sign that he is nearing a return and could be back this week (TUE vs. CHI, THU vs. CGY & SAT vs. NYR).
Malkin returned to the ice on Monday but will not play Tuesday vs. the Flyers. Instead, Malkin is hoping to be back in the lineup vs. the Oilers on Saturday. Continue to monitor Malkin’s status as the weekend approaches.
Stalock allowed one goal on 31 shots in the Wild's win over the Kings on Saturday. The Wild have a back-to-back on Tuesday/Wednesday, so Stalock will start tonight with Devan Dubnyk (upper-body) making his return to the crease tomorrow. Stalock is 1-2-0 with a 2.67 GAA and .900 SV% in three road starts but faces the lowest-scoring team in the NHL tonight, so he has some promise.
Capobianco appeared in six straight games but will be replaced by Aaron Ness on Monday. Capobianco has just one goal while averaging 13:47 TOI/gm this season.
Ness has appeared in 47 career NHL games (with the Islanders and Capitals) and has just one goal and five assists. The 29-year-old has one assist in four AHL games this season and is expected to replace Kyle Capobianco in the lineup on Monday.
Dermott has missed the first 13 games of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery in May. Dermott will replace Kevin Gravel and skate with Justin Holl in his season debut. The 23-year-old blueliner had 17 points (4G / 13A) in 64 games last season.
Tarasenko left last Thursday’s game vs. Los Angels with an injury that we now know will require surgery. This is a devastating blow for the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Tarasenko has missed just 15 games over the last five years but will be out until at least late-March, effectively ending his 2019-20 campaign. The in-house replacement for Tarasenko appears to be Robert Thomas for now but with Tarasenko heading to LTIR, don’t be surprised if the Blues make a move for a winger.
Texier was forced to leave Saturday's game with a knee injury and is expected to be out until mid-November. Jakob Lilja is expected to replace Texier in the lineup on Wednesday.
Murray suffered a broken hand in the Blue Jackets loss to the Flyers on Saturday. Markus Nutivaara will replace him on Wednesday if he is able to return from his lower-body injury. Don't expect to see Murray until mid-to-late November.
Richardson will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury which means that Barrett Hayton will remain in the lineup on Monday. Richardson skated this morning which suggests he could be back for Wednesday's game vs. the Canadiens.
Kuemper allowed three goals on 21 shots in the Coyotes' loss to the Islanders last Thursday. It was the first time since March 21st (13 starts) that Kuemper has allowed more than two goals--a stretch where he was 7-5-2 with a 1.52 GAA, .949 SV% and two shutouts. Kuemper has been simply outstayed in the 2019 calendar year, ranking third in all major goalie categories--wins (26), GAA (2.02), SV% (.933) and shutouts (5).
Laughton has enjoyed a solid start to 2019-20, registering there assists in nine games before breaking his finger on Saturday. Tyler Pitlick replaced him on Sunday and will likely continue to do so over the next month.
Mayhew's return to the AHL suggests that one or both of Jordan Greenway and Kevin Fiala are good to go on the Wild's upcoming two-game road trip. Mathew performed well in his first taste of the NHL, scoring two goals in six games. He returns to Iowa where he had six points (3G / 3A) in four games before getting called up.
Beaudin has played in three straight games with the Senators while Artem Anisimov and Colin White are out and his "demotion" is likely just a paper move. The Senators are off until Saturday so they get some salary savings by sending Beaudin down for a few days but look for him to return for the game in Boston.
