The Canucks placed Juulsen (undisclosed) on injured reserve retroactive to January 14th on Wednesday.

Juulsen is averaging 16:34 time-on-ice and has zero points, a -11 plus/minus, 57 blocks, and 89 hits in 32 games this season. The Canucks recalled defenceman Elias Pettersson from Abbotsford (AHL) in a corresponding move.

Noah Juulsen
Pettersson was recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) on Wednesday.

Let the confusion begin. Pettersson was selected in the third round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and is yet to make his NHL debut. The 20-year-old blue-liner has one goal and 12 assists in 36 AHL games this season. Defenceman Noah Juulsen was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday in a corresponding move.

Elias Nils Pettersson
Merzlikins will start in Toronto on Wednesday.

Despite appearing to be shaken up at the morning skate, Merzlikins will make his 31st start of the season when the Blue Jackets travel to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. Merzlikins didn't turn in his best performance his last time out, allowing three goals on 25 shots in a 3-1 loss on Long Island. The loss snapped a personal four-game winning streak for the 30-year-old netminder. Merzlikins carries a 16-11-3 record and an .890 SV% into Wednesday night's matchup. He'll have a hard time getting back in the win column against the Maple Leafs as the Blue Jackets enter action at +175 on the money line.

Elvis Merzlikins
Stillman has been recalled from Chicago (AHL).

Stillman was signed by the Hurricanes in the offseason but has yet to play a game in the 2024-25 season. His last NHL game was in the 2022-23 season as a member of the Buffalo Sabres when he had three points (1G / 2A) in 18 games. He has five points (2G / 3A) in 15 games with the Chicago Wolves (AHL) this season.

Riley Stillman
Richard has been recalled from Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Richard was a fourth-round pick of the Nashville Predators in the 2015 NHL draft but has been limited to only 31 career NHL games, scoring 14 points (6G / 8A). Primarily an AHL player, the 28-year-old Richard has 19 points (8G / 11A) in 18 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL) this season.

Anthony Richard
Knight will start in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

On the tail end of a back-to-back, the Panthers will turn to Knight between the pipes on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings. Knight was excellent in his most recent outing, saving all 34 shots he faced in a 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks for his second shutout of the season. He has a 2.45 GAA and .905 SV% in 18 appearances this season (9-6-1). The Panthers enter Wednesday's contest as slight +102 road underdogs against the Kings.

Spencer Knight
Rakell (personal) rejoined Pittsburgh at practice on Wednesday.

Rakell has been one of the most productive scorers for the Penguins lately but did not play on Monday against the Los Angeles Kings due to personal reasons. The 31-year-old forward has 40 points (23G / 17A) in 48 games this season, including 28 points (16G / 12A) in his last 25. He is poised to flirt with his career-high 69-point total (34G / 35A) from the 2017-18 season with the Anaheim Ducks.

Rickard Rakell
Kuemper is expected to start vs. Florida on Wednesday.

The Kings have been outscored 9-3 in their last two games (0-2-0) and will likely turn to Kuemper between the pipes on Wednesday against the Florida Panthers. Kuemper struggled in his most recent outing, allowing three goals on 21 shots (.857 SV%) in a 4-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken, but has been excellent most of the season. The 34-year-old netminder has a stellar 2.10 GAA and .920 SV% in 23 games this season (13-4-5). The Kings enter Wednesday's contest as -113 home favorites against a Panthers squad that defeated that defeated the Anaheim Ducks 5-2 last night.

Darcy Kuemper
Hellebuyck was in the starter's crease at Winnipeg's morning skate.

The Jets have been outscored 8-3 in their last two games (0-2-0) and will likely turn to Hellebuyck between the pipes when they attempt to return to the win column on Wednesday against the Colorado Avalanche. Hellebuyck struggled in his most recent outing, allowing four goals on 27 shots (.852 SV%) but remains the leading candidate for the Vezina trophy, boasting a 2.02 GAA and .927 SV% in 37 games (28-7-2). The Jets enter Wednesday's contest as +107 road underdogs against an Avalanche squad they defeated 3-0 on January 11th.

Connor Hellebuyck
Lankinen (illness) returned to practice on Wednesday.

Arturs Silovs served as Thatcher Demko's backup in Vancouver's most recent game as Lankinen was out with an illness. Lankinen has a 2.63 GAA and .903 SV% in 30 games this season (16-8-6) and has continued to be busy between the pipes since Demko returned from an injury.
