Since he was hired, Mikko Koskinen has played very well, so Talbot could see some improvement on his 3.04 GAA going forward. Tonight he takes on a Blues team that has lost eight of their last 11 (3-8-0).
DeKeyser was forced to leave Tuesday’s game vs. the Lightning with a hand injury and will be sidelined until at least early-January. With DeKeyser out, Luke Witkowski is expected to dress as the Red Wings’ No.6 defenseman until either Trevor Daley is healthy or they recall another defenseman.

Crawford allowed three goals on 41 shots in the Blackhawks loss to the Flames on Sunday. The losing streak has now hit five games for Crawford, who has given up a combined 23 goals on 160 shots (.856 SV%) over that span. Tonight he catches a red-hot Anaheim team that has won four in a row and six of their last seven games while averaging 3.14 goals for per game.
Quick stopped all 34 shots that he faced in the Kings shutout win over the Hurricanes on Sunday. It was a great way to win his first game of the season and will hopefully get the veteran netminder back on-track. Quick has now stopped 65 of the 68 shots (.956 SV%) that he has faced since returning from his knee injury.
Howard allowed two goals on 40 shots in the Red Wings win in Boston on Saturday. Howard has won his last two starts while stopping 71 of 76 shots (.934 SV%). Since October 30th, Howard is tied for fifth in wins (8), tied for seventh in SV% (.931) and 13th in GAA (2.37). Howie has been great but makes for a great sell-high candidate and should probably left on the bench with the Lightning in town.
Luongo has missed the last five games with a knee injury but has a chance to start on Tuesday. Luongo is officially listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s game, so monitor his status when the Panthers hit the ice for pre-game warmups. The veteran netminder has gone 2-0-0 while allowing just three goals on 58 shots (.948 SV%) in two games on home-ice this season.
Meier has missed the last three games but skated with Joe Thornton and Marcus Sorensen in Tuesday’s practice, suggesting he’ll be back on Wednesday. Monitor his status when the Sharks hit the ice for tomorrow’s morning skate.
Hanzal has missed the first 28 games of the season but could play in the Stars next game on Friday. Hanzal has been sidelined since undergoing back surgery last March. The 31-year-old centre has always had a tough time with injury but had a difficult time offensively in his first year in Dallas too—registering just 10 points (5G / 5A) in 38 games.
Eaves has been out since November 9th with a broken rib that he tried to play through it but that caused back spasms. Eaves remains out indefinitely.
According to GM Bob Murray, Fowler is making positive progression following surgery and could be back on the ice in 7-10 days. Fowler will begin working out this week and will be re-evaluated before he returns to the ice.
