NHL Hockey Player News

Andersen is expected to start Monday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Andersen allowed three goals on 45 shots in the Maple Leafs win in San Jose last Thursday. Garret Sparks gave him the night off on Friday, so Andersen will be back in the crease tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Andersen has won five in a row while stopping 169 of 175 shots (.966 SV%) with one shutout.

Frederik Andersen
Allen will start Monday vs. the Kings.

Allen stopped 32 of 33 shots in the Blues win in Vegas last Friday. Allen has had some struggles this season, but he has stopped 50 of the last 52 shots (.962 SV%) that he’s faced coming into Monday. Tonight he faces a Kings team that has lost four of their last five and will be playing their third game in four nights.

Jake Allen
Anderson will start Monday vs. the Panthers.

Anderson surrendered four goals on 35 shots in the Senators win over the Penguins on Saturday. Anderson has won three in a row despite giving up nine goals on 99 shots (.899 SV%). Tonight he faces the 7-7-3 Panthers in Ottawa, where he is 7-3-2 with a 3.20 GAA and .917 SV%.

Craig Anderson
Rinne will start Monday vs. the Lightning.

Rinne surrendered three goals on 28 shots in the Predators win over the Kings on Saturday. The win snapped a brief two-game losing streak for Rinne, who is now 7-2-1 with a 1.67 GAA, .943 SV% and one shutout in 11 games this season. In his first start vs. the Lightning, Rinne stopped 42 of 43 shots in a 4-1 win and he’ll have the added advantage of Andrei Vasilevskiy not being available for this one.

Pekka Rinne
DeSmith was the first goalie off of the ice at the Penguins morning skate.

DeSmith allowed three goals on 15 shots after replacing Matt Murray in the Penguins loss in Ottawa on Saturday. Despite posting a strong 2.27 GAA, .927 SV% and one shutout, DeSmith is 1-3-0 in three starts and three relief appearances in November. Tonight he gets a Sabres team that is on a five-game winning streak.

Casey DeSmith
Copley will start in Montreal on Monday.

Copley allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Capitals win in Colorado on Friday. Even with Braden Holtby (upper-body) healthy, Copley will make his fourth straight start tonight. The 26-year-old has been excellent in his last five starts, going 4-1-0 with a 2.17 GAA and .921 SV%. Tonight he faces a Canadiens team that has won three of their last four.

Pheonix Copley
Lundqvist will start Monday vs. the Stars.

Lundqvist allowed two goals on 41 shots in the Rangers 4-2 win over the Panthers on Saturday. Lundqvist is now 4-0-1 with a 2.61 GAA and .921 SV% in six games in November. Tonight they host a Stars team that comes in on the tail-end of a back-to-back. The 36-year-old is 6-3-0 with a 2.10 GAA and .937 SV% on home-ice this season.

Henrik Lundqvist
Price will start Monday vs. the Capitals.

Price allowed two goals on 38 shots in the Canadiens win in Vancouver on Saturday. Price was excellent out west, winning each of his two starts while stopping 79 of 83 shots (.952 SV%). In his first start against the Capitals, Price walked away with the win despite giving up four goals on 31 shots (.871 SV%).

Carey Price
The Capitals have assigned Ilya Samsonov to Hershey (AHL).

Samsonov came up to serve as Pheonix Copley’s backup while Braden Holtby (upper-body) was sidelined. Holtby said he was good-to-go after Sunday’s practice, so Samsonov’s return to the AHL suggests that Holtby is in fact good to at least serve as tonight’s backup, if not start.

Ilya Samsonov
The Rangers have recalled Steven Fogarty from Hartford (AHL).

Fogarty has registered seven goals and seven assists (14 points) in 19 games with the Wolf Pack this season. The 25-year-old, former third-round pick is expected to make his season debut and second NHL appearance vs. the Stars on Monday.

Steven Fogarty
Vatanen (lower-body) was placed on IR retroactive to November 15th.

Vatanen missed Sunday’s game in Carolina and his move to IR means that he will miss at least one more game (Tuesday vs. the Canadiens). The Devils defenseman will be eligible to come off of IR on Thursday (vs. the Islanders) but there is no timetable for his return at this time.

Sami Vatanen
Stralman (upper-body) is doubtful for Monday.

Stralman has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury and is likely to miss his fifth consecutive game on Monday. The Lightning have four games this week, so there will be plenty of opportunities for Stralman to re-enter the lineup.

Anton Stralman
The Ducks placed Hampus Lindholm (lower-body) on IR.

Lindholm missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury and was moved to IR. This is another big loss for the Ducks’ blueline that is already without Cam Fowler. Lindholm’s move to IR means that he will miss at least the next two games. Brandon Montour stepped up huge in Lindholm’s absence on Sunday, collecting one goal and two assists in the overtime loss.

Hampus Lindholm
Rittich will start Monday vs. the Golden Knights.

Rittich made 24 saves on 26 shots in the Flames 4-2 win over the Oilers on Saturday. It was another strong outing for Rittich, who has now recorded wins in four straight games while allowing just six goals on 91 shots (.934 SV%). Rittich seems to have taken over the No.1 job in Calgary for the time being and will see a Vegas team on the tail-end of a back-to-back tonight.
