The Avalanche have sent Spencer Martin to San Antonio (AHL).

Martin was serving as Semyon Varlamov’s backup with both Jonathan Bernier and Andrew Hammond being sidelined by concussions. Bernier is set to return as Varlamov’s backup on Tuesday, so Martin heads back to the Rampage, where he has gone 13-12-0 while posting a 3.06 GAA and .894 SV% in 30 games.

Kunin will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL; will be sidelined for 6-8 months.

Kunin tore his ACL in Sunday’s game against the Red Wings and his season is over. This is a tough break for the former first-round pick (No.15 overall in 2016) who appeared to have earned a role with the Wild down the stretch after picking up 19 points (10G / 9A) in 36 games with Iowa (AHL).

Luke Kunin
The Jets have reassigned Michael Hutchinson to Manitoba (AHL).

Hutchinson only played in two games with the Jets during his call-up, going 2-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .933 SV%. With Steve Mason being activated from IR, Hutchinson returns to the Moose, where he has gone 15-2-1 with a 1.95 GAA and .942 SV% in 21 games.

The Jets have activated Steve Mason (concussion) from IR.

Mason has been sidelined by a concussion since January 9th, but he will at least be available to backup on Tuesday. Head coach Paul Maurice did not announce a starting goalie, but they will need Mason down the stretch to give their workhorse Connor Hellebuyck some rest.

Steve Mason
Jokinen will make his Canucks debut on Monday.

Jokinen will suit up for his fourth team of the 2017-18 season when he plays alongside the Sedin Twins tonight vs. the Islanders. Jokinen, who is just a few years removed from a 60-point season with the Panthers, has picked up just one goal and six assists (seven points) in 46 games with the Kings, Oilers and Blue Jackets this year.

Jussi Jokinen
Markstrom will start Monday vs. the Islanders.

Markstrom allowed four goals on 43 shots in the Canucks loss to the Predators on Friday. Markstrom has allowed zero, one, two, three and four goals (in that order) in his last five appearances, posting a .920 SV% in the process. Tonight he faces an Islanders team that has lost six in a row, while being outscored 23-to-13.

Jacob Markstrom
Budaj (leg) is heading to Syracuse (AHL) on a conditioning stint.

Budaj has been sidelined since December 29th so he will need at least one game in the AHL before he returns to the Lightning. Budaj was 3-3-1 with a 3.80 GAA and .878 SV% with the Lightning before he got hurt.

Peter Budaj
Varlamov will start Tuesday in Chicago.

Varlamov allowed four goals on 31 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Predators on Sunday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Varlamov, who will make his 37th start tonight in Chicago. The 29-year-old has gone 6-9-2 with a 3.39 GAA and .892 SV% on the road this season.

Semyon Varlamov
Baertschi is likely done for the rest of the season with a separated shoulder.

Baertschi separated his shoulder vs. the Predators on Friday and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season. Baertschi finishes the year with 14 goals and 15 assists (29 points) in 53 games.

Sven Baertschi
Halak will start Monday in Vancouver.

Halak surrendered five goals on 24 shots in the Islanders loss to the Canadiens on Friday. Despite an impressive showing from Chris Gibson on Saturday, Halak will be back in the crease tonight. Halak is on a five-game losing streak, allowing a combined 18 goals on 146 shots (.877 SV%).

Jaroslav Halak
Raanta will start Monday in Edmonton.

Raanta stopped 23 of 24 shots in the Coyotes win over the Senators on Saturday. It was another great outing for Raanta, who has now won three in a row and is 6-1-0 with a 1.64 GAA, .952 SV% and two shutouts in his last eight appearances. Tonight he makes his third start vs. the Oilers this season—he is 1-1-0 with a 1.52 GAA and .955 SV% in the first two meetings.

Antti Raanta

Tristan Jarry
Talbot will start Monday vs. the Coyotes.

Talbot allowed three goals on 34 shots in the Oilers loss to the Rangers on Saturday. Talbot has lost three in a row with a 3.70 GAA and .902 SV%.
