MacDermid has been in the Kings lineup for the last nine games, but failed to record a point while posting a minus-7 rating. Overall he had just one goal and three assists in 34 games with the Kings, so he will head to Ontario to get some seasoning.
Fantenberg has picked up nine points (2G / 7A) across 26 NHL games this season but has been a healthy scratch for the last three games, so he will switch places with Paul LaDue to get some playing time in Ontario.
LaDue played 22 games with the Kings last season but has yet to appear in an NHL game this year. The 25-year-old defenseman has picked up 17 points (8G / 9A) in 34 games with Ontario and will be looking to pick up his first career NHL goal if he draws into the Kings lineup for his season debut this week.
Amadio, 21, had one goal in an eight-game stint with the Kings earlier this year but has spent the majority of his time in the AHL, where he has collected 34 points (11G / 23A) in 30 games. Amadio centred the Kings third line in Tuesday’s practice, so look for him to be in the lineup when they face the Penguins on Thursday.
As a veteran defenseman, Bouwmeester usually takes the morning off so there should be no concern about him missing tonight's game. Although, if he is unable to play then Vince Dunn would replace him on the blueline.
Dell allowed two goals on 15 shots after replacing Martin Jones in the Sharks win over the Coyotes on Saturday. Jones started last night, so Dell will go tonight in Arizona. The 28-year-old has gone 5-1-2 with a 2.63 GAA and .918 SV% in seven starts and two relief appearances on the road this season. He certainly makes for a strong spot-start option tonight.
Raanta allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Oilers last Friday. Scott Wedgewood started Saturday so Raanta will be back between the pipes tonight vs. the Sharks. Raanta has lost three of his last four (1-2-1) with a 2.45 GAA and .913 SV%. Raanta has gone 2-7-2 with a 2.67 GAA and .917 SV% in 13 games at Gila River Arena this season.
Elliott allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Flyers win in New Jersey on Saturday. The win extended Elliott’s winning streak to three games, despite allowing a combined 10 goals on 91 shots (.890 SV%) in those games. Tonight he goes searching for win No.18 on the season as he faces a Rangers team that dropped seven of their last 10 games.
Andersen allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Maple Leafs loss to the Senators last Wednesday. Following the Maple Leafs bye week, look for their workhorse netminder to face the Blues tonight. Andersen has dropped four of his last six starts (2-3-1) while posting a 2.94 GAA and .911 SV%.
Hutton allowed one goal on 12 shots after replacing Jake Allen in the Blues 7-4 loss to the Panthers before their bye week. Even after some rest, Allen has lost four straight while allowing a combined 15 goals, so Hutton will start tonight in Toronto. Hutton continues to lead the NHL in GAA (1.84) and SV% (.940) in 16 total appearances this season. Tonight he faces a Maple Leafs team that lost five of seven before their week off.
Lundqvist allowed four goals on 46 shots in the Rangers loss in Pittsburgh on Sunday. It was a busy weekend for King Henrik, who had to come in in relief of Ondrej Pavelec the night before. Overall, he stopped 58 of the 64 shots (.906 SV%) that he faced in the two losses and will look to get back in the win column tonight vs. the Flyers. Lundqvist is 13-5-2 with a 2.44 GAA and .921 SV% on home ice this season.
Abdelkader was already ruled out of Tuesday's game vs. the Stars but head coach Jeff Blashill made it clear this morning that the veteran winger won't be back until next week at the earliest and even that may be optimistic.
Helm was already ruled out of Tuesday's game vs. the Stars but head coach Jeff Blashill made it clear this morning that the veteran forward won't be back until next week at the earliest and even that may be optimistic.
Soshnikov has not played since November 24th and Mike Babcock anticipates that he will go to the AHL for a conditioning stint before he returns to the Maple Leafs lineup. This is probably the right call considering the 24-year-old has only appeared in three NHL games this season.
Spezza was a healthy scratch in Boston on Monday afternoon but the Stars apparently have some players who are nicked up coming into the tail-end of their back-to-back, so Spezza will draw back into the lineup tonight. Spezza is currently riding a 14-game goalless drought.
