Appleby will make his first career NHL start on Thursday.

Appleby stopped all four shots that he faced after replacing Cory Schneider (lower-body) in the Devils loss in Boston on Tuesday. Appleby has stopped all 28 shots that he has faced in his two relief appearances and tonight he’ll make his first NHL start. The 22-year-old netminder was 5-8-1 with a 3.21 GAA and .888 SV% in 16 games with Binghamton (AHL) when he was called up.

Ken Appleby
Vasilevskiy will start Thursday in Philadelphia.

Vasilevskiy stopped all 40 shots that he faced in the Lightning’s win in Chicago on Monday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Vasilevskiy, who was given Tuesday off and will be back in net before the All-Star break. The 23-year-old has gone 12-6-1 with a 1.90 GAA and .944 SV% in 19 road starts this season.

Andrei Vasilevskiy
Condon will start Thursday vs. the Bruins.

Condon allowed three goals on 36 shots in the Senators loss in Minnesota on Monday. Despite the loss, it was good enough for Condon to get another start tonight vs. the Bruins. In his first start against the Bruins, Condon allowed five goals on 34 shots in a 5-0 loss in late-December. He catches a break with Brad Marchand suspended for Boston.

Mike Condon
Holtby is in the starter's crease at the morning skate.

Holtby allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Capitals loss to the Flyers on Sunday. Holtby has lost three straight while posting a 2.69 GAA and .908 SV% and comes into Thursday well rested with Philipp Grubauer starting three of the last six games. Holtby is a strong option tonight with Harri Sateri getting the call for the Panthers.

Braden Holtby
Hutton is in the starter's crease at the Blues morning skate.

Hutton stopped all 25 shots that he faced in the Blues shutout win over the Senators on Tuesday. Hutton has won three of his last four starts while posting a 1.59 GAA, .944 SV% and one shutout. The shutout earned him yet another start tonight vs. the Avalanche. He stopped 38 of 41 shots in a 4-3 win in his first start vs. Colorado, but that was way back when they were still a terrible team.

Carter Hutton
Rinne was in the starter's crease at the morning skate.

Rinne allowed three goals on 40 shots in the Predators win over the Panthers on last Saturday. Juuse Saros started on Tuesday so Rinne will get the Predators final game before the All-Star break. The Finnish netminder is riding a four-game winning streak with a 2.21 GAA and .927 SV% in the process. He is a must-start vs. the Devils without Ken Appleby in net and no Taylor Hall or Marcus Johansson.

Pekka Rinne
Neuvirth will start Thursday vs. the Lightning.

Neuvirth allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Flyers win over the Devils on Saturday. Brian Elliott got the next two games but Neuvirth will be back tonight vs. the Lightning. Since returning from injury, Neuvirth is 3-0-0 with a 1.36 GAA and .955 SV% in three starts and two relief appearances. Despite the strong stretch of goaltending, he has a tough task tonight with the Lightning in town.

Michal Neuvirth
Howard will start Thursday vs. the Blackhawks.

Howard allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Red Wings loss to the Hurricanes on Saturday. Petr Mrazek started both ends of the Red Wings’ back-to-back on Monday/Tuesday but Howard will be back in net tonight vs. the Blackhawks. He has lost three in a row while posting a 3.81 GAA and .880 SV% and catches the Blackhawks on the tail-end of back-to-back.

Jimmy Howard
Neuvirth was the first goalie off of the ice at the Flyers morning skate.

DeSmith will make his fourth straight start on Thursday.

DeSmith stopped 34 of 35 shots in the Penguins win over the Hurricanes on Tuesday. DeSmith has gone 2-1-0 with a 1.35 GAA and .960 SV% in his previous three games so he earned a fourth straight start tonight. As good as he has been, he will be in tough vs. a Wild team that has won four of their last five.

Casey DeSmith
Sateri will start Thursday vs. the Capitals.

Sateri allowed six goals on 36 shots after replacing James Reimer in the Panthers loss in Dallas on Tuesday. With Reimer and Roberto Luongo both dealing with injuries, Sateri is expected to be the Panthers’ No.1 for the time being. Sateri is 0-2-0 with a 4.82 GAA and .861 SV% in one start and two relief appearances this season.
