Georgiev stopped 31 of 32 shots in the Rangers win in Ottawa on October 5th. The Rangers have had a bizarre early-season schedule but they get back in action with a back-to-back on Thursday/Friday. Georgiev’s first outing was impressive and tonight he faces a Devils team that is the only winless team left. They are averaging just 2.17 goals per game (t-28th) through six games.

Nygard has registered one goal on nine shots in his first six career NHL games. Nygard will miss at least two weeks and Patrick Russell will replace him in the lineup on Wednesday.

Koskinen gave up three goals on 31 shots in the Oilers win in New Jersey last Thursday. Mike Smith started the last two games but they will come back to Koskinen tonight vs. the Flyers. He has won his first two games while stopping 53 of 58 shots (.914 SV%) and catches Philadelphia on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Grubauer gave up three goals on 32 shots in Colorado’s win in Washington on Monday. Grubauer owners could not have asked for a better start to the season. He is 4-0-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .925 SV% in his first four outings and will look to stay undefeated in Pittsburgh. The Penguins are extremely banged up but they still rank third in the league in scoring (4.17 GF/gm).

Despite not losing a game this season and Zadorov scoring his first goal on Monday, he will come out of the lineup on Wednesday. Zadorov will be replaced by Mark Barberio.

Barberio was a healthy scratch in Washington on Monday but will replace Nikita Zadorov on the blueline on Wednesday. Barberio has no points and four shots in 16:50 ATOI in two games this season.

Nichushkin has just one assist in his first five games with the Avalanche and will rest Wednesday in Pittsburgh. J.T. Compher is returning from a lower-body injury, replacing Nichushkin in their bottom-6.

The Devils have listed Nico Hischier as “day-to-day” with an upper-body injury that he suffered on Monday. With Hischier not on the ice, Jack Hughes skated on the top-line with Taylor Hall and Kyle Palmieri.

Compher has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury but will play Wednesday in Pittsburgh. Compher has one goal in two games while playing 14:41 ATOI to start 2019-20.

Bishop allowed four goals on 22 shots in the Stars loss in Buffalo on Monday. The Stars have stumbled out of the gate, with Bishop going 1-3-1 with a 2.78 GAA and .895 SV% in five games. As rough of a start as it has been, Bishop should be one of the best options on tonight’s six-game slate. The Blue Jackets are 2-3-0 and are averaging just 2.20 goals per game (t-26th).

Samsonov allowed two goals on 21 shots after replacing Braden Holtby in the Capitals’ loss to the Avalanche. Samsonov has won both of his starts this season while stopping 49 of 51 shots (.961 SV%) so he is starting to threaten Holtby’s workload. Despite a red-hot start to his NHL career, he draws a rough home matchup vs. the fourth highest-scoring team in the league (4.00 GF/gm).

McCann missed Monday’s practice with a lower-body injury and will be a game-time decision on Wednesday. The Penguins are ravaged by injuries upfront, so they will dress a seventh defenseman if McCann can’t play.

Murray gave up four goals on 33 shots in the Penguins win in Minnesota on Saturday. Tristan Jarry gave him the night off on Sunday, so they’ll come back to Murray tonight vs. the Avalanche. Murray is 2-2-0 with a 2.52 GAA and .920 SV% in four home starts but the Avalanche are undefeated (5-0-0) and are averaging 4.40 goals per game (2nd in the NHL).

Sorensen has missed the last three games but could be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Hurricanes. Head coach Pete DeBoer said that Sorensen “took a good step” and “it’s all about how you react to things the next day, so not prepared to pencil him in yet.” So monitor Sorensen’s status during Wednesday’s morning skate.

Korpisalo allowed two goals on 32 shots in the Blue Jackets’ win in Carolina last Saturday. After a tough start to the season vs. Toronto, Korpisalo has played well in his last three starts, going 2-1-0 while stopping 66 of the 73 shots (.904 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he takes on a Dallas team that ranks dead last in the NHL in goal-scoring (1.86 GF/gm).

Perry has missed the first seven games of the season but appears set to make his Stars debut on Wednesday. The Stars returned two forwards to Texas (AHL) on Tuesday, paving the way for Perry to enter the lineup. Perry’s best days are behind him—he was on a 16-goal, 11-assist per 82 game pace last year but had a devastating 4.4 on-ice SH%.

Hutchinson stopped all five shots that he faced after replacing Frederik Andersen in the Maple Leafs blowout loss to the Lightning last Thursday. In his first start, Hutchinson gave up five goals on 42 shots and draws his tough road matchup in Washington. The Capitals have started the year at 3-2-2 while averaging 3.14 GF/gm (16th in the NHL).

Mrazek gave up two goals on 19 shots in the Hurricanes win over the Islanders last Friday. Mrazek has opened the 2019-20 season at 3-0-0 while posting a 2.57 GAA and .882 SV%. He was 11-9-2 with a 2.43 GAA and .914 SV% on the road last year. The Kings offence has surprised this season, averaging 4.00 goals per game through five games.
