The 38-year-old Talbot posted a 2.93 GAA and a .900 SV% in 47 appearances last season (21-19-5). The Red Wings acquired John Gibson in the offseason to be their new starting netminder, but Talbot has the opportunity to play himself into more games if he can showcase some consistency. The Red Wings enter Monday's contest as +142 road underdogs against the Maple Leafs.

Through two games this season (0-2-0), the veteran goalie has a 4.21 GAA and .860 SV%; not promising numbers for a goalie hoping to return to the 2.34 GAA and .924 SV% he posted in 2022-23, when he finished as the runner-up for the Vezina Trophy. The Islanders enter Monday's contest as +111 home underdogs against the Winnipeg Jets.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
