David Savard
Faulk (upper-body) will not play against the Senators on Friday.

Faulk played a season-low 16:16 time-on-ice in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks and will be held out on Friday against the Ottawa Senators. The 32-year-old Faulk is averaging 23:27 time-on-ice and has 13 points (2G / 11A) in 37 games this season. He also been active on the Blues' second powerplay unit.

Binnington was superb his last time out, allowing just two goals on 30 shots in a 6-2 victory in Chicago on Tuesday. The 31-year-old netminder owns a 10-14-3 record and an .897 SV% on the season. Binnington and the Blues enter action on Friday as slight favourites at -120 on the money line.

Jordan Binnington
Pettersson (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve on Friday.

The move was made retroactive to December 23rd, so this doesn't actually suggest Pettersson is expected to be out any longer than the team previously announced when they said he was expected to miss at least seven days back on December 29th. The Canucks also called up goaltender Artus Silovs in a corresponding move as Thatcher Demko is unavailable for Friday's game due to a back injury.

Elias Pettersson
The Penguins activated Pickering (concussion) from injured reserve and he will return to the lineup on Friday.

Pickering has missed the last three games due to a concussion but will return to the lineup on Friday against the Florida Panthers. The 20-year-old Pickering is averaging 15:47 time-on-ice, scoring two points (1G / 1A) in 14 games in his first NHL season. Ryan Shea will be a healthy scratch to accommodate Pickering's return.

Owen Pickering
Petry (undisclosed) left Thursday's game vs. Boston with an injury and did not return.

Petry exited Thursday's 5-4 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in the third period after recording 17:17 time-on-ice. The 37-year-old Petry is averaging 19:11 time-on-ice and has six points (1G / 5A) in 34 games this season. William Lagesson was recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) in a corresponding move.

Jeff Petry
Knight will start vs. Pittsburgh on Friday.

Knight went 2-2-1 with a 3.80 GAA and .846 SV% in five games in December. Knight will look to put a tough month of December behind him, as he starts January with a decent matchup vs. the Penguins. Despite being on the second half of a back-to-back, Knight and the Panthers have the second-highest implied Win% (65.6%) on the slate. Knight has been significantly better on home-ice this season, going 2-3-0 with a. 2.09 GAA, .914 SV% and one shutout in Florida, versus 4-3-1 with a 3.39 GAA and .871 SV% on the road.

Pittsburgh has acquired Colton Poolman and future considerations from Buffalo for Jagger Joshua and Bennett MacArthur.

Poolman is a product of the University of North Dakota and has yet to play an NHL game. The undrafted 29-year-old defenseman has spent the past five season in the AHL. He has one point (0G / 1A) in five games with the Rochester Americans (AHL) this season.

Colton Poolman
Wedgewood (lower-body) is still being evaluated but is expected to be out week-to-week.

Wedgewood was hurt after Zach Benson fell on his right leg in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Wedgewood had to be helped off the ice and was reportedly wearing a boot post-game. Colorado has recalled Trent Miner to serve as Mackenzie Blackwood's backup in the interim.

Scott Wedgewood
Sturm (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision vs. New Jersey on Saturday.

Sturm is battling an undisclosed ailment and his status for Saturday's game against the New Jersey Devils is up in the air. The 36-year-old Sturm is averaging 9:43 time-on-ice and has nine points (4G / 5A) in 36 games this season.

Nico Sturm
Miner has been recalled from the Colorado Eagles (AHL).

Scott Wedgewood exited Thursday's game against the Buffalo Sabres after a collision with Zach Benson and is expected to be out of the lineup on a week-to-week basis. Miner could serve as the backup to Mackenzie Blackwood for the entirety of Wedgewood's absence as Colorado head coach Jared Bednar stated that Blackwood will likely see a heavy workload. The 23-year-old Miner has a 2.47 GAA and .903 SV% in 16 games (8-5-3) with the Colorado Eagles (AHL) this season.

Trent Miner
Saros was the first goalie off the ice at Nashville’s morning skate.

The Predators are amid a three-game losing skid, outscored 15-7, and attempt to return to the win column with Saros between the pipes on Friday against the Vancouver Canucks. Mark Kastelic
Svechkov has been recalled from Milwaukee (AHL).

Svechkov made his NHL debut earlier this season, scoring two points (2G / 0A) in nine games, but has spent most of the season in the AHL. He has 12 points (5G / 7A) in 13 games with the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL). The 21-year-old Svechkov was the 19th overall pick of the Predators in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
