
Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Blue Jackets’ loss in Nashville before the All-Star break. Bobrovsky has lost his last two starts while allowing a combined eight goals on 56 shots (.857 SV%). He was victorious in his first start vs. the Penguins and comes into Pittsburgh at 11-5-2 with a 2.45 GAA and .914 SV% on the road this season.
Mrazek gave up four goals on 28 shots in the Red Wings’ loss to the Maple Leafs on January 25th. Mrazek has gone 6-6-2 with a 3.08 GAA and .890 SV% at Joe Louis Arena this season and despite winning his first start vs. the Islanders, they’re much improved right now and Mrazek is a risky option tonight.
Barkov has been sidelined since December 28th, but will return to the Panthers’ top line tonight. In addition to Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau will make his season debut which is huge for Barkov. They played together a ton last season and should be reunited tonight. Before getting hurt, Barkov had nine goals and 18 assists (27 points) in 36 games.
Huberdeau was hurt in a preseason game and missed the first 51 games of the season, but will make his season debut tonight versus the Ducks. Huberdeau’s injury really hurt the Panthers, but he returns with them just outside of the playoffs. Huberdeau had a break-out 2015-16 season, scoring 20 goals with 39 assists (59 points) in 76 games. Expect him to be re-united with Aleksander Barkov, who also returns tonight and Jaromir Jagr.
Andersen was pulled after he allowed three goals on eight shots on Tuesday. It was a tough outing for Andersen, who posted back-to-back shutouts prior to Tuesday. Tonight he will take on a struggling Blues team that has lost five of their last six games and just fired their head coach.
Greene has been out since January 3rd, but will be back after a one-month absence. Greene, who has nine points (3G / 6A) in 39 games this season skated on the Devils’ top power play unit during Thursday’s practice.
Schneider allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Devils’ win in Detroit on Tuesday. Schneider finished January with a 5-3-2 record, 2.19 GAA, .928 SV% and one shutout. Tonight he will face a Flames team that has won two in a row, but have lost six of their last nine games coming into tonight.
Theodore might set a record for the most call-ups in a season at this rate. The 21-year-old has just eight points (1G / 7A) in 25 games with the Ducks and nine points (1G / 8A) in 13 games with the Gulls.
Miller allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Canucks’ in Arizona last Thursday. Miller will start the Canucks’ first game after the break and will be in tough against the Sharks. Miller has gone 12-4-1 with a 1.98 GAA and .933 SV% on home-ice so far this season.
Quick faced some shots and is stretching on the ice for the first time since getting hurt in mid-October. Quick isn’t expected to be back until March and this is the first step in his recovery.
Rielly missed his sixth consecutive game on Tuesday despite taking part in the morning skate and he was on the ice again this afternoon. Rielly skated with Frankie Corrado as an extra, but remains a game-time decision so check his status when the Maple Leafs hit the ice for warmups.
Perreault has missed the last three games with broken thumb, but is ready to return to the Jets’ lineup in Dallas. Perreault will replace Brandon Tanev in the lineup and skate on the fourth line with Nic Petan and Chris Thorburn. The veteran winger has just four goals with 12 assists (16 points) in 36 games this season.
