Kronwall has missed the last 15 games after having his knee scoped, but he was activated from IR this morning and will return to the lineup vs. the Blue Jackets. Kronwall has three goals, 14 assists (17 points) and a minus-10 rating in 45 games this season. Xavier Ouellet will be a healthy scratch with Kronwall back.

Mrazek was the first goalie off at the morning skate.

Mrazek gave up two goals on 27 shots in the Red Wings shootout loss in Ottawa on Senators. Mrazek has lost three of his last four starts while posting an ugly 3.55 GAA and .863 SV%. Reimer is 3-3-1 with a 3.92 GAA and .866 SV% this month and tonight he faces a Predators team that has gone 4-3-3 in their last 10 games. Elliott left Monday’s game with a lower-body injury.

Elliott started 18 consecutive games while Jake Allen was out, but left last night’s game, which was the first in which Allen was back as his backup. There is no word on how serious Elliott’s injury is, but look for Jake Allen to start every game until Elliott is back.

Brian Elliott
The Canadiens have recalled Victor Bartley from St. John’s (AHL).

Bartley has picked up two goals and two assists in 10 games with St. John’s since being acquired from Nashville. This is his first stint with the Canadiens, but has appeared in one NHL game this season and 112 games since 2012. He has 23 career points (1G / 22A) and will likely remain with the Habs with Tom Gilbert (knee) out for the season.

Victor Bartley
Gilbert will undergo season-ending left knee surgery.

Gilbert was scratched from Monday’s game and listed as day-to-day, but the Canadiens announced that he will need to undergo knee surgery, which will end his 2015-16 season. With Gilbert out, the Habs have recalled Victor Bartley from St. John’s (AHL).

Tonight he faces the Canadiens for the second time this season—in the first meeting he stopped 35 of 36 shots in a 5-1 win.

Gustavsson stopped 10 of 11 shots after replacing Tuukka Rask in the Bruins loss in Detroit on February 14th. The Flames have acquired Hunter Shinkaruk from the Canucks for Markus Granlund.

Shinkaruk, 21, was the 24th overall in the 2013 NHL draft, but has spent just two seasons with the Canucks organization. He played just one game with Vancouver, and 119 with Utica (AHL). The 5-foot-11, 180 lbs. winger has 21 goals and 18 assists (39 points) in 45 AHL games this season. He will report to the Stockton Heat.

The Sabres have placed Ryan O’Reilly (lower-body) on IR.

The Sabres announced that their leading scorer would miss 3-4 weeks, so moving him to IR was the obvious move. A three-week timetable means that O’Reilly will miss the next 10 games. With the Fantasy Hockey playoffs looming, his movement to IR will at least allow owners to stash him and look for an alternative option.
