Luongo allowed two goals on 32 shots in the Panthers win in Ottawa on Thursday. Al Montoya helped extend the Panthers’ win streak to 12 on Sunday, but Luongo will go tonight in Vancouver. Of those 12 consecutive wins, Luongo has won nine of the them and posting a 1.34 GAA and .954 SV%. Tonight he faces his former team in Vancouver—he is 2-2-1 with a 2.59 GAA and .912 SV% in his career vs. the Canucks.

Montoya stopped 39 of 40 shots in the Panthers win over the Wild last Sunday. Montoya has been incredible when called upon this season, going 6-1-1 with a 1.69 GAA and .938 SV%. Montoya draws the duty of trying to extend the Panthers’ winning streak to 12 games. He’ll face an Oilers team that has lost five of their last seven, while averaging just 1.86 goals per game over that span.

Howard was pulled after allowing four goals on 14 shots in the Red Wings loss in Winnipeg on December 29th. Petr Mrazek has started the last five games, but Howie will go on the second game of their back-to-back. Despite his recent struggles, the Kings are a team he’s had success against in his career (10-6-0).

Tonight Mrazek will start his fifth consecutive game—he will face the Ducks, who have won five of their last seven games, but have averaged just 2.14 goals per game over that span.

Varlamov allowed three goals on 22 shots in Colorado’s win over the Predators on Friday. Varlamov has won three straight games while posting a 2.28 GAA and .923 SV%. Tonight will be Varlamov’s third start of the season against the Blackhawks—the 27-year-old is 1-0-1 with a 1.94 GAA and .944 SV% in the first two meetings between these teams.

Niemi allowed six goals on 29 shots in the Stars loss in New York on Tuesday. Kari Lehtonen started and won on Thursday, but the Stars will go back to Niemi tonight against the Wild. Niemi has faced them twice this season, going 2-0-0 with a 2.08 GAA and .930 SV% in those two meetings.
