The 33-year-old Rittich struggled in his most recent outing, allowing five goals on 26 shots (.808 SV%) in a 5-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild. He has a 3.41 GAA and .886 SV% in five games this season (3-2-0). The Islanders enter Friday's contest as +176 road underdogs against a Utah team coming off a 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

The Islanders have won two straight and will turn to Sorokin on Thursday in the front end of a back-to-back when they visit the Vegas Golden Knights. Foerster was drafted 23rd overall by the Flyers in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and has shown strides towards becoming a reliable offensive producer at the NHL level. After scoring a career-high 43 points (25G / 18A) in 81 games last season, he was off to a strong start in 2025-26, with seven points (4G / 3A) in 11 games. He returned to practice on Tuesday and his return to the Flyers' top-six seems imminent. The team returns to action on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers.

Sundqvist was limited to 7:43 time-on-ice in the Blues' 6-1 loss to the Washington Capitals last Wednesday, exiting the game with an undisclosed injury. The 31-year-old Sundqvist has five points (0G / 5A) in eight games this season. He returns from a two-game absence on Tuesday when the Blues face off against the Calgary Flames.

Legault appeared to suffer a laceration on his hand during a second-period scrum in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 22-year-old rookie defenseman left a trail of blood on the ice as he skated off to the dressing room. He has since undergone successful surgery to repair multiple torn extensor tendons on his right hand and will be sidelined for three to four months.
