Lehtonen allowed three goals on 14 shots in the Stars loss in Columbus on Tuesday. Antti Niemi started the last two games, but Lehtonen will start tonight in Brooklyn. Lehtonen went 3-1-0 with a 3.01 GAA and .892 SV% in December—tonight he starts on the road, where he has gone 7-0-0 with a 2.54 GAA and .914 SV% this season.

Carter has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury, but he will travel to Colorado for Monday’s game, which suggests that he might play vs. the Avalanche. It is only a one game road trip, so he wouldn’t be travelling if there was no chance he plays.

Bjugstad missed the entire month of December because of migraines, but has been practicing and his activation from IR today suggests that he will play for the first time since November 29th. Bjugsad has 12 points (7G / 5A) in 23 games this season.

Nichushkin (lower-body) will be back in the Stars lineup on Sunday.

Nichushkin was scratched from last night’s game because of a lower-body injury, but will get back in the lineup tonight. There was no indication on who would come out to make room for Nichushkin, but we will find out in warmups. Nichushkin has just 13 points (4G / 9A) this season and hasn’t registered a point since December 15th.

Quincey (ankle) is nearing a return; hopes to be back in the lineup on Thursday.

Quincey skated on Sunday and said that he hopes to be back in the Red Wings lineup on Thursday vs. the Sharks. That means he will not play on Monday in New Jersey, but monitor his status throughout the week. Quincey has been sidelined since October 23rd with an ankle injury.

Greiss allowed four goals on 26 shots in the Islanders loss to the Penguins last night. The loss snapped a short two-game winning streak for Greiss, who will get back in goal tonight. He draws a difficult matchup with the Stars in town, but Greiss has been good on home ice—he is 5-3-2 with a 2.05 GAA and .933 SV% at Barclays Center.

Anderson allowed seven goals (Yes, 7) on 37 shots in the Senators loss in Boston on Tuesday. Anderson was 6-5-1 with a 2.87 GAA and .918 SV% in December and is 16-10-4 overall. Tonight he takes on the Blackhawks for the second time this season—in their first meeting he allowed three goals on 38 shots in a 4-3 OT win.

Gibson stopped all 21 shots that he faced in the Ducks shutout win over the Oilers on Thursday. Gibson has posted back-to-back shutouts, stopping all 35 shots that he’s faced and has won three consecutive. Frederik Andersen got the call on Friday, but it looks like they’ll go back to Gibson vs. the Jets—Winnipeg has won three of their last four.

Crawford gave up five goals on 37 shots but still walked away with the win in Arizona on Tuesday. Scott Darling got the call on Thursday, so they’ll go back to Crawford tonight vs. Ottawa. Crawford has gone 8-4-1 with a 2.00 GAA and .936 SV% in December and tonight he faces the Senators for the second time—he gave up four goals on 27 shots in a 4-3 OT loss on December 3rd.

Rinne allowed five goals on 32 shots in the Predators loss in Dallas on Thursday. Rinne hopes that January is better than December, when he went 5-6-2 with a 2.64 GAA and .902 SV%. Rinne has gone winless in his last eight starts on the road (0-6-2) while posting a 3.51 GAA and .874 SV%. He will start in Carolina, looking for his first road win since November 5th.
